Top 6 pigmentation correctors you need in your skin care kit

Pigmentation and dark spots are pesky little things. They pop up on your face, your hands and your décolletage without so much as a polite warning, and once they arrive, they tend to stick around. For a very long time.

And although ageing is inevitable, uneven skin tone is something we can fight. Reclaim your glowy, youthful-looking complexion by employing one of these top pigmentation fighters. They truly are some of the hardest-working skin tone correcting products available, but don’t just take our word for it – beautyheaven’s trusty reviewers have given them a big thumbs up, too...
1. Garnier Dark Spot Corrector Daily Unifying Moisturiser
“I have pigmentation from past acne scarring, which I am always trying to fade or cover up. Using this product regularly has made a visible improvement to my spots - I love it. The cream blends easily, feels very light on the skin and is moisturising.” – Rk2002

2. CLINIQUE Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
“After about 4-5 weeks of use, I noticed a definite improvement in my acne scarring. The redness had lessened and became more uniform to my normal skin tone. My face looked brighter and little spots I had on my right side (from driving, grr sunshine!) seemed to have faded a bit as well. I definitely saw results!” – Lana Lang

3. Alpha-H Liquid Gold Radiance
“I've been using the Alpha H Liquid Gold for years after stocking it in my salon. I used the Liquid Gold radiance a few months ago as it is slightly stronger than Liquid Gold. It was brilliant and really made my skin feel really clean and toned and helped even more with pigmentation.” – Cb Sheck

4. John Plunkett Superfade Original Cream
“Have only been using for a few weeks but can see a major improvement, especially on my hands. Used it initially on one arm and noticed the difference in a week. Now I'm using it all over (major age spot infestation) and am really excited by the results.” – Lyndam

5. Ultraceuticals Even Skintone Serum
“I only got it a couple of weeks ago now, but my pigmentation is about 90% gone. I am so happy and I would definitely recommend you give this product a go if you want to get rid of or minimise pigmentation.” – Kpiripi

6. Avon Anew Clinical Luminosity Pro Brightening Serum
“Whenever my skin is looking dull, I reach for this product. After one application it leaves my skin looking brighter and wonderfully glowy, and with regular use, it notably fades the freckles on my cheeks and small pimple scars on my chin area. In fact, I can't recommend the entire Anew Clinical Luminosity Pro Brightening range enough!” – bh's Cherie
Note: remember to be persistent when using these products. Sun and age spots take time to develop, and they also take time to fade. Apply these products once or twice a day for at least four weeks and you'll start to see results. And with continued use, you'll prevent new spots from forming. Win!

Neverending thing...this pigmentation. Prevention is best. Wish I knew this decades ago and been wiser with my sun worship. Meh, now just embraced my blotchy skin and keeping it healthy. Inside and out. Love experimenting though...with cool skincare and new innovations.

Have used the Clinique, Avon and John Plunkett creams. A few listed here are no longer available ie Avon and I don't think you can get the Garnier one anymore.

Using a mix of arbutin, vit C, E and Ferulic, azelaic acid, tretinoin, liquorice, bearberry and niacinamide and it is taking forever to budge.
I wear tinted SPF 50 and reapply throught the day, wear a very wide brimmed hat but it’s still there!
Next stop? Laser!

I think pigmentation would be one of the hardest thing to get rid of so trying to prevent it in the 1st place should be a priority. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen

I don't have any pigmentation, but would have been good to have products with Vit C and sunscreen listed.

This article is potentially very useful for me as I am trying to fight pigmentation now. However, it is not updated and at least 2 of the links are broken. If certain product is no longer manufactured (garnier) or no longer available in Australia (Avon) could BH please at least remove those products before recycling this article on the home page?

I have used John Plunketts Super Fade before on some freckles on my arms but didn't really keep with it long enough to see results. I decided in the end to embrace my freckles!

I used John Plunkett many years ago on a brown pigment and it was amazing. Took about 6-8 weeks and it never returned. I would use it again and again.

Totally agree, even after having pigmentation reduced or during the process without proper protection than they will just return!
