3 steps to soothe sensitive skin

A number of factors are known skin aggravators – from certain environmental conditions and low humidity levels, to coming into contact with irritants or harsh soaps. There is no one single cause of sensitive, red, irritated skin, and so this often makes treating and preventing it rather difficult.
However, there is a natural way to effectively soothe skin and build up its defence against environmental aggressors and other irritants. You just need to know what to apply and when, and what skin restoring ingredients to look for…
3 EFFECTIVE STEPS FOR CALMING SENSITIVE SKIN
#1. Calm your skin.
Must-have product: Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Calming Mist.
Lightly spritzing this facial mist onto your face morning and night (or whenever required) will instantly leave your skin feeling hydrated, refreshed and comforted. Its natural aloe and linseed extracts help restore moisture and skin clarity; its signature Comfort Complex includes calendula extract, which is key in helping to soothe and comfort your skin and amp up its own natural defences against factors that cause stress; and its fresh cucumber and chamomile botanicals will help lift your senses as well. This means soothed, rebalanced skin and a calmer mind too.
#2. Restore your skin’s hydration levels.
Must-have product: Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Restorative Treatment Serum.
Skin can become sensitive because its own defence mechanism – the epidermal layer of the skin – has been compromised. This leaves it unable to protect itself against outside forces such as environmental factors and certain products. This highly effective serum uses botanicals to not only soothe and hydrate your skin, but help restore its natural protective barrier. Along side its Comfort Complex, which contains the comforting calendula, this product also utilises the hydrating and soothing benefits of prickly pear extract, which is rich in vitamins, minerals and beneficial nutrients. Apply a few pumps to your face, neck and décolletage after cleansing each morning and night for the best result.
#3. Soothe and comfort your skin.
Must-have product: Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturising Cream.
This final step about nourishing the skin, as well as providing an invisible blanket of protection. This soothing moisturiser works wonders when it comes to this task thanks to its precious botanical oils and essential fatty acids (read: evening primrose, macadamia, rose hip and avocado oils), which help improve both your skin’s hydration levels and its barrier protection. The calendula extract in the formulation also works to soothe and comfort the skin. Warm a small amount in between your fingers and gently press into your face, neck and décolletage morning and night to fully reap its restoring, comforting and hydrating benefits.

I'll have to check jurlique out, in the past their lists have all contained alcohol which dries my skin out and makes my redness worse though

Very odd that jurilique sponsored article for redness. Their mists and some other products are high in alcohol, and their rosewater mist has caused me redness and rash in the first place (may not be alcohol itself, I think, combo of high amount of essential oils and alcohol together....not good for the skin)
