Blogstar entry: light beauty (aka living lightly while looking heavenly)…
No, not a banner waving, greasy haired, fur coated hippy; just a healthy, shiny, lovely-to-look-at female… I should know – at 48, with 4 model-attractive girls and finding myself in the public eye, I need to get it right.
Most don’t want to frown about bombarding ourselves with a thousands of different cocktails daily, just to look, feel and smell gorgeous. What price is vanity? Who said anything has to suffer just to look ‘beautiful’?
From toothpaste to talc, deodorant to foundation to hair gel, we are coating, primping, gelling, infusing and spraying our way to an early death, even though there are fresh, safe, healthy and beautiful alternatives available in almost every beauty outlet.
Every single deathly product on the market has a safe and healthy alternative. There is no governing body in the beauty industry. That’s why it’s okay to use engine degreaser and brake fluid in our shampoo and conditioner. That’s why carcinogens are freely available in these products.
Big warning signs are compulsory in the automotive industry on the big drums that hold such wonders as not-very-pretty sounding beauty ingredients as sodium laurel sulphate, methylparaben, propylene glycol and benzene; yet because they are in smaller amounts in our ‘beauty’ products, there is no need to frighten us enough to give us worry lines..
Options include plant based stem cell therapy – imagine renewing your skin with younger cells each month! What about naturally-plumping plant derived ingredients that remove those bags, plump up lips, fill in hollow cheeks, flush those saddle bag dimples away?
So, when you open your eyes in the morning, you can brush your teeth with re-mineralising and non-irritant toothpastes; you can wash your face with safe and gentle cleansers that have no nasty surprised. Your moisturizers are filled only with nourishing, yummy-sounding, even edible wonders. Same too with the deodorant, hair product, perfumed oils and yes, your cosmetic treasury.
What of cosmetic animal testing? I’ve overheard young things talking about their understanding. No, it does not involve simply making over a pretty rabbit to see how good they look. The tests are far more in depth and totally unnecessary – and too cruel and gruesome to put in this blog. But just know, millions (yes, millions) of tortured animals die every single year from being blown up, skinned, burned, blinded, ulcerated and poisoned with the very products we use to make ourselves feel wonderful and pretty. Some of the planet’s best product ranges are cruelty free and ethical…
When you walk out to face the day, you can do it knowing your body is glowing and being nourished in unison. You are not adding to the glut of chemical toxicity that is our planet – and you will look incredible.
And not one species has suffered, not one animals has been sacrificed just so you can look your best.
And not a stray hair (head or pit), waft of body odour, or hint of poor grooming in sight…
