How to de-stress your skin

Have you ever nipped out to the bathroom during a stressful day at work only to discover new (and very unwelcome) fine lines have set up camp on your forehead? Cue minor freak-out, adding even more anxiety to your crazy workday. Yippee.
Stress, anxiety and fatigue not only affect how we feel on the inside, but they also show on our faces as well in the form of breakouts, fine lines and wrinkles, puffy eyes, redness, and dry, flaky skin.
So, how do you deal with a stressed-out complexion? Try these tricks…
Recharge and reboot
When stress strikes, the body releases a chemical called cortisol, which can send your blood sugar levels skyrocketing. This can damage the collagen and elastin in the skin, leading to fine lines, wrinkles and dryness. The solution? Get your hands on a moisturiser such as Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator or Nuxe Crème Nirvanesque to replenish your skin’s hydration levels and protect it from inflammation.
Bye, bye puffy eyes
Had a few sleepless nights lately? Has worry kept you up at night? If so, chances are you’re sporting a nice set of puffy peepers. Calm and cool the eye area morning and night with a soothing eye cream like Dr. LeWinn's Eternal Youth Day & Night Eye Cream.
Purify your pores
In times of stress, it’s important to decongest and purify your skin to avoid ending up with inflammation and blocked pores, as these can lead to breakouts. Once a week, take fifteen minutes out of your day to slather on a mud mask, flick through your favourite mag, and sip on a chamomile tea. We love Davinci De Stress Mud Mask and Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Anti-Stress Mud Masque for super clear, refreshed skin.

Yes, I get stressed out skin, and hormones are not very helpful either :(
Keeping up with your water intake and cleansing routine is helpful.

Working out I noticed helps clear my skin. Also a good face mask to really draw out impurities.

Yes, I get fine lines on my forehead and my makeup enhances them... I can make them almost disappear by exfoliating my forehead and then applying moisturiser... The best way to de-stress my skin (other than by having a good skincare regime in the first place) is by treating myself to a good cleansing mask and then a hydrating one.

I always notice stress in my eyes first, then I will try to put a mask on, Sukin is great and an eye mask as well and chill a bit

To de-stress my skin I might use the Detoxifying exfoliator from Sukin. It's creamy but also ungreasy so I like to use this especially after using make-up.

You know, I read the opening line of this article and thought, it's days like that when you over-analyse your face and its in that moment when you want to go do something like botox, or have a complete overhaul. I really want an overhaul! I'm feeling like I've been run over!

I'm still looking for a good moisturizer. Most of them contain glycerin, it dries my skin out, so it looks very leathery...very difficult to find

The only time I see stress on my skin is if I use a new face product and my skin doesn't like one of the ingredients. It is always in the form of one or more pimples and/or congested pores. Thankfully this doesn't happen often.

I try to drink plenty of water to help my skin. Fine lines are a bit like grey hairs - when you lose count of how many there are, you stop counting and just live with them!
