The fragrance notes that last the longest

Bugbear alert!
Do you tend to find that your fragrance has faded just 10 minutes after applying it to your skin? It’s annoying isn’t it? Especially when you take the time to apply it so lovingly each morning.
What if there was a way you could determine which scents would be the longest lasting before you bought them? Well, you can! You just need to get clued up on what to look for in a scent…
Go for musk or woody scents
Scents with a musk or woody base will generally last longer than other fragrances as the oils tend to evaporate at a slower rate than those with a fruity or floral base, meaning they’re noticeable for longer.
Choose the right strength
How long your perfume sticks around has a lot to do with which kind of fragrance you buy. Generally, the less the concentration of essential oils in a scent, the faster it will fade away.
Parfums contain the largest volume of essential oils, which means they take the longest to evaporate and therefore hang around for the longer. Eau de parfums are next in line for lingering time, followed by eau de toilette. Eau de cologne contains the least amount of long-lasting essential oils and will therefore not last as long on the skin.

Go for the ones with base notes - they can be blended with top and middle notes and these will make those last longer. Patchouli and Sandalwood are base notes.

I find that overall the French fragrances last longest on me, such as Gucci and Guerlain. I always choose eau de parfum over eau de toilette for extra lasting power.

I especially love patchouli and tuberose notes in fragrances. I have noticed that my fragrances with patchouli notes last quite long (e.g: Angel by Thierry Mugler!).
