The fragrance notes that last the longest

Bugbear alert!
Do you tend to find that your fragrance has faded just 10 minutes after applying it to your skin? It’s annoying isn’t it? Especially when you take the time to apply it so lovingly each morning.
What if there was a way you could determine which scents would be the longest lasting before you bought them? Well, you can! You just need to get clued up on what to look for in a scent…
Go for musk or woody scents
Scents with a musk or woody base will generally last longer than other fragrances as the oils tend to evaporate at a slower rate than those with a fruity or floral base, meaning they’re noticeable for longer.
Choose the right strength
How long your perfume sticks around has a lot to do with which kind of fragrance you buy. Generally, the less the concentration of essential oils in a scent, the faster it will fade away.
Parfums contain the largest volume of essential oils, which means they take the longest to evaporate and therefore hang around for the longer. Eau de parfums are next in line for lingering time, followed by eau de toilette. Eau de cologne contains the least amount of long-lasting essential oils and will therefore not last as long on the skin.

I am fond of sandalwood, patchouli & musk. In Summer I use lighter fruity or floral scents (Clinique Happy or Marc Jacobs Daisy) but in Winter I love Dior's Addict.

I really really like musk and sandlawood- find these last forever- I also find that sometimes oils last longer on the skin- especially in the heat. Sometimes though you have to be careful- I feel as though my fragrance has gone and i CANT smell it but people comment through the day- so be careful with your amount- and dont overspray even if you think the fragrance has faded- it can be too much. Like today I smelt someone two seats away on the bus and it was a terrble perfume!

Fruity/fresh scents are my favourite but I agree that they don't last as long as woody/spicy scents which is a shame

I'm not that familiar with perfume scents/notes etc. I do prefer fruity/sweet scents - not a fan of musk.

I find fruity and aquatic scents tend to last the least longest on my skin, which is a shame because I love them. :(

Its strange when I use a scent for a while I can't seem to smell it on me but other people can but I try and get the concentrated one cost a bit more but its worth it!

Amber and sandalwood are two of my favourites, but I have a soft spot for patchouli & musk as well. In winter, Calvin Kleiin Obsession lasts the longest on me, and in summer, I'm a Eclat D'Arpege fan - both of these only require one spray in the morning to last all day :-)

Lucky some of my favourite notes are on this list because I am too lazy to reapply and usually can't afford to layer the one perfume.
