The fragrance notes that last the longest

Bugbear alert!
Do you tend to find that your fragrance has faded just 10 minutes after applying it to your skin? It’s annoying isn’t it? Especially when you take the time to apply it so lovingly each morning.
What if there was a way you could determine which scents would be the longest lasting before you bought them? Well, you can! You just need to get clued up on what to look for in a scent…
Go for musk or woody scents
Scents with a musk or woody base will generally last longer than other fragrances as the oils tend to evaporate at a slower rate than those with a fruity or floral base, meaning they’re noticeable for longer.
Choose the right strength
How long your perfume sticks around has a lot to do with which kind of fragrance you buy. Generally, the less the concentration of essential oils in a scent, the faster it will fade away.
Parfums contain the largest volume of essential oils, which means they take the longest to evaporate and therefore hang around for the longer. Eau de parfums are next in line for lingering time, followed by eau de toilette. Eau de cologne contains the least amount of long-lasting essential oils and will therefore not last as long on the skin.

Great list! However, I tend to stick to more fresh and fruity scents as floral tends to give me a headache.

I love freesia and sandalwood notes. My three fragrances that stick around the longest all come from Mt Romance here in Australia. They are "Sandalwood" Body Splash containing unspoiled notes of natural Australian Sandalwood, "Bois" with romantic notes of freesia, white rose, lillies, water accords, driftwood and dry down of pure Sandalwood and lastly "Ophir"which is a floral bouquet of fragrance. Even my niece admits that any fragrance from Mt. Romance is guaranteed to be long lasting. Just a dab of her favourite one "1845" , lasts her the whole day !!!

I prefer fresher scents and would be happy to reapply than wear something I'm not a big fan of, especially if it lasts for ages, I'd likely get sick of it!

Musky scents always seem to last longer than those light, fresh, floral scents.

I love freesia notes, anything sweet grapefruit, berry, rose, gardenia, peony & lilly of the valley. Burberry fragrance ie; The Beat, Weekend and Body last well for longevity along with Agent Provocateur xox

I like both musk and cinnamon. Both last quite long. Pure rose is a bit old-fashioned, but I'll wear it sometimes. I do love fruity scents, and I have a secret to make them last. You leave them in your cupboard for two years and then use them. Yep - I can hear you gasp. The conventional wisdom says the perfume will go off. In fact, the water/base will evaporate, leaving a purer and stronger oil/scent. Okay, I'm not very convincing, but it has worked for me. Or at least, no one has complained ....

Longevity of scent also has alot to do with your own body chemistry, and what works with your skin. There are also things you can do to make your scent carry longer (aside from using a parfum) like layering with a moisturiser. Take an accompanying moisturiser, or one without much of its own scent, and spritz to areas where you have applied moisturiser after the cream has settled into your skin a little. I like applying on forearms or back of knees if wearing something short. Ive found these are great places for the scent to carry alot more naturally, and they are normally in more movement than decolletage or behind your lobes! :)
