Spritz to save lives
Imagine if every time you washed your hands you were at risk of picking up a deadly disease. Or if every time you got a drink of water from the tap, or washed your food, you were taking your life in your hands.
It might seem like a crazy concept to us, but for the 900 million people around the world who are still deprived of safe, clean water, it’s a shocking reality. Worse still, is that due to this lack of clean water, 4,000 children are dying from water-borne diseases – every single day.
So when we heard that Giorgio Armani had teamed up with Green Cross International to create 'Acqua For Life' – a campaign that aims to raise awareness and provide several tens of millions of litres of drinking water to populations without any access to it – we knew it was worth talking about.
Acqua For Life’s goal this year is to offer a minimum of 40 million litres of drinking water to populations in need. The operation will initially begin in Ghana, where some 40 percent of the rural population has no access to drinking water. As children are the most vulnerable to water-borne diseases, they will be the primary beneficiaries of the donations collected by the Acqua For Life campaign.
Giorgio Armani has offered to make two of his most famous fragrances, Acqua Di Gio and Acqua Di Gioia, the vehicles for the campaign, with every bottle sold generating a donation of 100 litres of drinking water per year to children and their communities.

On average, how often would you drink a glass of water from the tap on any given day?
