Outlast All-Day Lipcolour Reviews

I'm a big fan of two-step, long-lasting lippies. I'd rather take the time to apply two layers of product & be right all day, or at least until lunch time, than to have to reapply constantly throughout the day.

Application of the lip colour is a wedge shaped doe-foot wand, which makes it easy to line the lips before filling in; balm is a clear, wind up stick. Unlike most other two-step lipsticks, the tube of colour & the tube of balm are separate. I preferred this at first, but then I found myself rummaging for the balm & found it frustrating. I used a different balm on top of the colour. I've also used the balm by itself on occasion. The balm is quite good, but nothing exciting.

My lips don't get particularly dry, yet when I wear this, my lips look very dry, even though I find the product comfortable to wear. The colour might not need touching up, but I need to keep reapplying the balm. This is not something I experience with other two-step lippies. Balm first makes the colour slip off with my first cuppa.

I experience little if any transference onto cups, & I've never had this lipstick transfer onto my teeth (despite the finger in the mouth trick, I get lipstick on my teeth a fair bit. This is the main reason I buy long-lasting lipsticks in the first place). Colour can wear patchily after a meal or a few drinks. Cinnamon Stick is a vampy, spicy brown, like the name suggests. Being a dark colour, when it starts to wear off, the patchiness is quite obvious & can look cheap. This might not be true for some of the lighter shades in the range.

Covergirl are not one of my favourite brands. I've had an eye shadow of theirs which had poor colour payoff, so it's a brand I rarely buy. Of all the two-step lipsticks I've tried (L'Oreal Infallibles, MNY 24hr Superstay, Rimmel Provocalips), this is my least favourite because of the dry look it gives my lips. This brown shade is bang on trend & I'll wear it a lot, but I won't repurchase. The endurance is way better than average, yet the dry look ruins the effect, so I've compromised and ranked this lip colour 3 stars.
