We review: New beauty updates

Is your beauty routine feeling a bit stale? Then it’s time to switch it up with some brand new, beautyheaven approved beauty loot.
This month, we’ve discovered four fabulous beauty buys, that have well and truly earned their place in our beauty routines. From the luxe-looking candle that bh’s Rosie adores, to the anti-ageing skin saviour loved by bh’s Di, the hard-working foundation primer that impressed bh’s Sophie, and the shampoo and conditioner duo that is a must-have for bh’s Astrid’s lengthy locks.
Peppermint Grove Patchouli & Bergamot Candle
bh’s Rosie says:
“Being a total candle fiend, this is one beauty that I was beyond happy to have sitting pretty on my coffee table. The glass jar is unlike any other candle jar that I've come across, and it really sets this brand apart from other brands. It also comes with a luxe-looking silver lid which is perfect for protecting the candle from dust and bugs which can settle into the wax. The scent of this candle was simply gorgeous - patchouli and bergamot are such classic scents and they gave my living room the most relaxing fragrance. This candle is a must for anyone wanting a little added luxury in their living room, bedroom or bathroom.”
Dermatonics Beauty Elixir
bh’s Di says:
“I was intrigued by a naturally based anti-aging product so was very keen to try the Dermatonics Beauty Elixir. The Elixir is a thick rich cream which comes in a very handy pump bottle so you always get just the right amount of cream. It is infused with medicinal plant extracts to help maintain skin elasticity, collagen production and to reduce the appearance of fine lines. I applied the cream to my face, neck and décolletage after cleansing. The cream spreads really well and is quickly absorbed. It left my skin feeling really firm and hydrated. After using the cream for a couple of weeks I really noticed that it helped to minimize the look of the fine lines on my face and neck.”
Bodyography Clear Foundation Primer
bh’s Sophie says:
“If there’s one thing I never skip in my makeup routine, it’s a makeup primer. I know there are plenty of naysayers out there who don’t believe in primers, but I think that they are absolutely essential. Lately I’ve been loving the Bodyography Clear Foundation Primer. My skin gets dry and flaky in winter, and this primer helps to keep my base looking soft and smooth. It contains nourishing ingredients like green tea, grape seed extracts, and vitamins A and E, which help to give my dull, dehydrated skin a boost. It also contains anti-ageing dermaxyl, which I love as I’m a BIG fan of any makeup products with skin care benefits.
I like to massage the primer into my skin, then wait a minute before applying my foundation. It absorbs really quickly, so if I’m in a rush I can get away with only waiting around 30 seconds. Whenever I wear this primer I definitely notice a difference in the longevity of my foundation. It lasts way longer whenever I use it. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a hard-working primer that ensures your base lasts as long as possible.”
Goldwell Shampoo and Conditioner
bh’s Astrid says:
“My hair has been in quite a state this winter. It's dry, it's dull and it's knotty. Thankfully, I've got the Goldwell Dualsenses Color Shampoo and Conditioner on my side. Firstly, I love the scent of this duo. The lychee, watermelon and berry notes transport me from my freezing Bondi bathroom to a faraway tropical destination, and keep my hair smelling fresh and fruity all day long. I find the shampoo is incredibly thorough in cleaning my hair, which is great because it means I get more days in between my washes. Best of all, the conditioner is luxurious but lightweight, keeps my hair silky smooth (no more birds nest here!) and my colour brighter and shinier.”
