How-to: dreamy daytime makeup
The New York Fashion Week runways have been positively bursting with beauty inspiration this week. But while some of the make-up concepts are amazing to look at, they’re not always that easy to achieve (unless you have a make-up artist at hand that is!)
And incase you haven’t noticed, here at beautyheaven we’re all about easy, achievable beauty that you can accomplish in front of your very own bathroom mirror – which is why we’re about to break down a couple of the catwalk looks, so you can recreate them with ease.
First up is a gorgeous daytime look straight from the Sarafpour runway. Make-up Artist for MAC, Gordon Espinet, says the inspiration for the look is, “Kate Moss as Brigitte Bardot... A girl who is sexy and coquettish, but doesn’t know it.” Here’s how to recreate the look:
1.) Sweep a nude shadow across your entire lid, blending it across the crease of your eyelid, towards the outer corner of your brow bone.
2.) Use a liquid or gel eyeliner and, starting from the inner corner of each eye and working outwards, define your top lash line. We like:
MAC Penultimate Eye Liner.
Tip: flick the line upwards towards your temple when you reach the outer corner of your eye. The size of the ‘flick’ will determine the dramatic effect of your liner.
3.) Next, blend a pearlescent shadow around the inner corner of each eye and along your lower lash line for an instant eye brightener. Try: MAC Eye Shadow in Dazzlelight.
