Our hair editor reviews 3 new hair products

There’s nothing I love more than a new beauty product fresh to the shelves, especially when its a hair product. Luckily for me, as beautyheaven’s hair editor I get access to all the best new hair products, often long before they’re even released.

RELATED: Is a digital hair dryer worth the investment?
There have been quite a lot of new hair launches recently, so to help you decide what’s worth shelling out your hard-earned dollars for, I’ve reviewed three new hair products.
Schwarzkopf Extra Care Supreme Length Shampoo and Conditioner
Growing one’s hair can be a painstakingly slow process. Some of us have naturally rapid growth, while others can find that their locks stay the same length for what feels like years. I’ve always been the former – my hair grows at warp speed – but after years of colouring it to within an inch of its life, I’ve noticed it’s begun to slow a little and I’ve also noticed more breakage, which I just won’t stand for.
I was deep in my research for anti-breakage hair products when the Schwarzkopf Extra Care Supreme Length Shampoo and Conditioner landed on my desk. Designed for longer hair lengths, this duo contain micro repair lipids, peony essence and keratin serum to repair damaged hair, reduce any split ends and strengthen the hair structure, thus preventing further breakage. I began use the following morning, and after using it for a good month, I can happlly say I’ve seen a lot less breakage. The shampoo gives my hair a great cleanse while the conditioner makes it feel smooth and easily detangles my strands. Plus, it smells damn good so if you haven’t already, give it a shot.
Batiste Dry Shampoo - Pink Pineapple
Full disclosure, I’m a massive fan of the Batiste dry shampoo range. I’ve tried loads of different brands and formulas, but my trusty Batiste is one I always come back to. So each time they release a new one, I’m always excited to get it on my often-greasy roots. This month they’ve brought out a limited edition Pink Pineapple scent and I’m telling you now, it is heaven in a can.
It works just like the other Batiste dry shampoos – you simply give the sizable 200ml can a good shake, hold it approximately 30cm away from the hair and spray it into your roots. When I sprayed the Batiste Dry Shampoo - Pink Pineapple into my hair for the first time, I fell in love with the scent – it’s a tropical fusion of fruity guava, juicy apple and zesty orange that instantly transported me to sunnier days. And of course, as per all the Batiste dry shampoos, it instantly refreshed my sweaty post-gym hair gave my locks some much-needed volume. So if you’re in the market for a new dry shampoo, I reckon this one should definitely be on your radar!
ghd gold professional styler
I’ve had a few months to give the ghd gold professional styler a really good go, and I’m seriously impressed. I’ve had a ghd styler for years (and apparently so have most girls – ghd sells 4 stylers every minute across the globe), so I was really keen to try this newly-upgraded classic styler. This bad boy is tricked out with dual-zone technology, a much faster heat-up time of 25 seconds, a sleeker design for smooth, snag-free styling and an automatic sleep mode for those forgetful babes out there.
My old ghd is still going strong, but I noticed a huge difference between the two as soon as I started using the ghd gold professional styler. The biggest difference is just the smoothness and ease of styling – no bits of hair caught in the iron and much less struggle to get the hair exactly how I want it. In fact, after many sad attempts at curling with my straightener that often ended in tears of frustration, with the ghd gold professional styler I have finally mastered it! So if you’re heat styling is as clumsy as mine (or even if you’re a seasoned pro), this styler is a more than worthy purchase.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one on this planet that doesn't have a GHD. I love the sound of all these too

I'm struggling to curl with my GHD I find the hair just straightens more, its like it just slips through! Watched a few youtube videos so gonna try again! I used to used the jilbere de paris and could do so many curls with that cos I could feel how to tug on it to get the curls I wanted.

The Pink Pineapple dry shampoo sounds nice, but I can't use traditional dry shampoos due to the alcohol content sadly.
(Oh & sorry to be a nitpicker, but I think there's a grammatical mistake towards the end of the article - instead of "so if you're heat styling is as clumsy as mine", it should be "so if your heat styling is as clumsy as mine".)

I'm a little fussy about things like that too. Also there, their, they're.

I will definitely have to try the Schwarzkopf Extra Care Supreme Length Shampoo and Conditioner. Trying to maintain long, healthy hair is very hard and I am still yet to find a product that does the job. Hopefully this will be the one :)

Nothing really grabs me with this lot, I’m not a fan of GHD because the one I had had no heat control and in the long term it really dried my hair out as it’s so hot, the sleekness came from scorching
