Affordable at-home treatments to deal with damaged hair
Damaged hair can be such a pain, but we’ve got great news – repairing it doesn’t have to be expensive. As we’ll show you in the video above, it’s actually really easy to do a hair treatment for damaged hair at home. We’ve also uncovered a simple styling trick that will help to soothe your locks by cutting back on heat styling – minus the bed hair!

Don’t head to the nearest salon or shell out big bucks to repair your hair – follow our easy instructions for an effective hair damage treatment at home! So if you’re sick of dealing with stressed-out strands, here are three easy ways to get your hair back to its healthy, shiny best – without breaking the bank.
Healthy hair hack #1: Create a DIY hair treatment for damaged hair
You might be surprised to know that you can give dry or damaged hair a boost with pantry staples, such as a banana. Bananas are a great source of Vitamin E and also contain natural oils to help soften and repair your hair and improve its elasticity, which can help your hair to be less susceptible to breakage.
Simply mash 1 ripe banana and work it into your damp hair, as we’ve demonstrated in the video above. Allow it to sit in your hair for an hour, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Done!
Healthy hair hack #2: Pick up an affordable at-home hair mask from the supermarket
Another affordable at-home option is to purchase a supermarket deep treatment that will give your hair the hydration it needs. We love the Palmers Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Protein Pack which, at only $3.99, is super-affordable and provides an extra-nourishing fix for dry, dehydrated or unruly hair.
The formula contains coconut and monoi oil to restore the hair’s moisture, as well as keratin and silk proteins to strengthen, repair and add shine. It’s also made with ethically and sustainably-sourced natural ingredients and is completely free from parabens, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil, gluten and dyes. Plus, it smells really, really good so it’s a no-brainer, really.
Healthy hair hack #3: Ditch the hot tools and style your hair naturally
Allowing your hair to dry naturally is another easy way to keep damaged hair at bay. You can even style it without using styling tools, which will give your hair a break from all that harsh heat.
For cute, easy waves separate your wet hair into two sections, before twisting each section into a tight, side bun. Leave them in place throughout the day or while you sleep, and when you unravel the buns you’ll have fresh, tousled waves! You’re welcome.

My hair is not damaged but it is very dry and prone to tangles. I like to use jojoba oil as a pre-shampoo treatment.

Great tips! But since I have naughty hair, I always have to use tongs to align my hair. My hairdresser advised me with quality tongs from https://greathaircurlers.com/best-curling-iron-long-hair/. Now I think it's better to buy the AsaVea Ionic Hair Straightener Review or the ProCabello Flat Iron Review. Ionic uses advanced and advanced infrared technology, and Iron heats up with ceramics. Has someone used such tongs? Did you like everything?

My favourite way to look after my hair is to use a hair mask from hello hair. All of their hair masks smell so amazing and always manage to make my hair feel so much healthier and softer after I use them. :)

Plain oil not just hot oil treatments works great such as coconut oil or she’s butter too, but I find too much makes it greasy- rinse with apple cider vinegar if you use too much. I have really fine hair since being sick and nothing is working anymore I need. Thickner too

Can anyone recommend a good product for fine hair?! I find some mask a bit too heavy and makes me look oily and weight down. MUK has been good so far but anything else?

I've recently started using the Grow mask by Pump, and it has improved the condition of my hair greatly. Still waiting on the promised thickness/length results but its only been a couple of weeks. My hair is fine, damaged and oily - the unholy trifecta.
