what does everyone think about designer glasses ( not sunnies)? are they worth paying the extra bucks?
It depends how good they look on you & if there are any similar styles that are cheaper. If they look stupid than they are never going to be worth paying for.
kat1 is right and it's all about finding a pair of frames which suit your face shape and spending several hundreds of dollars on designer ones aren't going to necessarily mean they are going to look fabulous. I have to try on nearly every single pair of glasses in the store when trying to choose the right frame.
it depends on the brand bexie. frames and sunnies i found to be really great quality and had good warranty replacements when needed was ones by Safilo. they did (and think they still do) Polo by Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Dior, Ralph Lauren and their own brand as well as a few others. they are sturdy well made frames. I used to get these for my hubby when i worked in optics and he never had a problem with any of them. they are usually really on trend too.
i got some they are versace with a black frame and no frame around the base (hope that makes sense) they cost $770 though but are bifocials so i suspose thats ok, normal cheap pairs were like 400 so i thought i my as well spend the extra bucks and i might look after them better
they sound beautiful. Versace should last well if you look after them. being semi-rimless try make sure you fold them up when you take them off, ie; don't sit them on a bench open as you may chip the lens. also try to take them off with both hands, removing them with one hand (from one side) can twist them out of shape and you may pop a lens out. they can be put back in but you are with out specs until they're fixed. I'm sure your optom told you all this but just in case. lol :)
thanks really great advice
i've got to rember to not leave them in the bathroom the opto. told me it csan cause mould to grow aroung the frames ewww...
I once had a $300 dollar pair and i lost them in the first few months. I think i left them accidentally on a bus but i was devastated as they were really nice but i only needed to wear them sometimes coz im short sighted. but if u need to wear glasses often or all the time then definitely coz they look great!
I was prescribed glasses a few years back, so went to OPSM and spend AGES trying every pair of frames on. I didn't like any of them, except one pair of Emporio Armani frames. They weren't that much more than regular frames, so I thought why not, since they actually didn't make me look too freaky. But it turned out that I didn't need glasses at all (I don't really trust optometrists now), so I have hung onto them in case I need some in the future.
I think you should get what looks good on you, whether that's the cheapest frames, or the most expensive you can afford.
I also had a beautiful pair many years ago that cost me a small fortune and I left them on a train. I was so disappointed and I had trouble finding a pair that were just as good. At certain times of the year the optometrists have some good specials on frames and lenses so you can pick up a great designer pair at great prices.
if they are pretty costly it can be worth having them added to your house insurance.
i wear mine all the time so i dont think i'll lose them but every morning i have a mini freak out wondering were i put them the night before
cheap and nasty frames still have a nasty (not cheap) price attached to them. I bought my Morrissey frames from oo.com.au for around $130 BARGAIN! I took a risk not trying them on first but I could return them if I didn't like them. I got them glazed at another place I found online for $50 but they scratched my case and gave me $25 back. So for around $150 I have an awesome pair of designer glasses.
i adore my Dior glasses :D
Only $350 all up... $100 off sale! Watch out for them having sales. It's a great bargain!
i find that designer glasses have more styles and so it's easier to find one that suits your face.
It depends on you if they're worth the extra bucks. If you don't mind spending the money, they're great. You can find the style that suits you, but if there's a cheaper brand with a similar style, it might not be better. I'm a really picky person, so when I bought my glasses, I tried on pretty much all the frames in the optometrist.
With designer brands, you are more likely to find the frames that suit you best (because of the larger variety), so you look better, feel more confident wearing them and you won't be too shy to wear them. The extra dollars paid might also be an incentive to wear them when you're suppose to as well.
i duno, if they are really good quality with uv protection and all that then i spose the extra dollars are worth it. but im fine with a cheaper brand as long as it is good quiality. i got a new pair of glasses recently and they were $535 , and it wasnt even a designer brand! sheesh
I have Armani glasses, i'm so happy with them because i feel that they suit me.
I just recently got vogue glasses because that brand tends to have the frames i want and suits me reallly goood. I would recommend trying on the type of glasses u like until u found that perfect one, regardless of the brand. Then if u still want the designer frames then have a look at in the designer section and look for similar ones to 'the perfect one'. Only because non-branded ones have a larger range!!! Goodluck, it does take a lot of time
This gradual smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling silly smooth and hydrated. It absorbs into the skin really well and gives me a really natural looking tan.
I received this as part of the Oct discovery bag (thanks BH!) and was keen to try out this Australian cruelty-free brand.
I received this product as part of a trial team. This is my first trial so its ironic that it would be food.
