Fonts/Typeface to use on the New Look Forums
Fonts/Typeface to use on the New Look Forums
A few members have been discovering (accidentally and by experimenting) different fonts (sizes, italics, bold) to use on the forums, as beautyheaven previously listed how to use bold and italics.
As these fonts have been put on a few different forum topics (as they've been discovered) I thought it best to put them under the Techie Talk category.
I'll list the ones so far, and if others could add ones they find. You certainly don't need to get fancy with you forum posts, but sometimes it's nice to make something stand out more, such as a members' name.
Bold font is 2 of * before and after the word/s you want to bold (asterisk asterisk)
Italics is _ before and after the word/s (underscore)
Bold and italics is two **_ before the word and after the word (underscore asterisk asterisk)
Typewriter font
(this was known as our Sarcastica font at one time)
Type four spaces then type your words
These are the basics but if you want more.....
or if you are looking for
EMOJIS ☺️❤️☺️

Huge Bold Font
use a singe # (hashtag) before the first character at the beginning of a new line
Huge Bold Italic
use a # followed by a _ (hashtag underscore) before and after, at the beginning of a new line
the more hashtags you put at the beginning, the smaller the font - I used 6! But it has to be on a new line
and three # (hashtag) will give you a smaller bold font at the beginning of a new line
and of course # followed by the underscore (hashtag underscore) before AND after will give you the bold and italics - I used 4 hashtags for this size#### again at the beginning of a new line
Note that using _ (underscore) in the sentence switches off the italics - which is what happened prior to ####again in the above paragraph!
Thanks to Cherry Blossom and Rose and I know Meedee is having a play around to see if we can change the colour to be other than black and blue - there has to be a pink and a pale blue somewhere! So if you are feeling creative have a play around on a comment you have already written to change it rather than making a new comment!

Good work Kassalee
Thanks Kassalee! :)
Amazing work!
Great effort and very useful Kassalee
Oh, and I am so following this thread!
Hahaha CherryBlossom, thank you for your
massive input!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one intrigued by these 'secret' fonts. The beauty bloggers probably know all these hints and are wondering what we are getting so excited about!
It took me an hour to compose the topic - getting the info from 3 different topics and kept editing to get it right! I'm a bit slow at all this technology, but I get there eventually!
You did very well composing this thread Kassalee It's not easy going back and forth getting all the info, and God forbid the computer does something and goes blank, so great effort here!
It's nice trying to see if we find anything new and quite addictive!
I found out that < any word here > actually makes the word inbetween invisible, but I can't figure out any use for that! Ha! There's just , no space inbetween.
Oh my gosh, that's what I mean by invisible, I actually have the word 'and' in my last sentence above, after the There's just... But it's invisible, because of the < before and after > how funny! But I can't see any use for this!
:(
_ this is fun!-
Thanks Kassalee :)
Hey! I made a comment to an article & for some reason my comment was huge & no one else's was. I couldn't work out why. Now I know!
Colour test!
{EDIT}: OK, that was a fail. That's how it's done on my other forum - whoops! Umm, there's no other forum...
Hey misfortune8
:)
I love the fact that the colour you choose is indigo! How good would that look!
Keep testing, it's so much fun!
It looks good on that other forum that doesn't exist, erm ahem, on which I always post in indigo.
Oh okay misfortune8 but my head is extra thick today because I'm so sorry, but I did not understand what you mean, but that's okay :)
Ha, so sorry, but I'm just blinking :)
thanks Kassalee :D
Thanks for creating this helpful thread, Kassalee!
Thanks Kassalee
## This is super cool
Misfortune8 asked in another thread how to do bullet points so that it ends up like this:
And not like this: - point 1 - point 2 - point 3
The secret is leaving a blank line (or a 'carriage return' for us oldies!) before the first point. Found this by trial and error as mine were originally coming out in a paragraph too so I decided to fiddle about with it. :)
You bloody legend mayday! Thanks. This is why I follow this thread, I've had to come back to refer to it a few times.
• Testing • spacing • for • bullet • points
Nope. You can see I've left a blank line. I tested leaving a couple of blank lines. No go. Do you do your bullet points by pressing Alt+7 (my method) or is there another method I don't know about?
No, I just use a dash and it changes to a bullet after posting. :)
Aah, thanks mayday!
Practice post
Thank you for starting this thread! I'm just going to see if I can make bullet points with paragraph spaces between them:
Bullet point one.
Bullet point two.
Bullet point three.
I wonder we've got the strikethrough function on here....
-s-t-I-k-e-t-h-o-u-g-h -f-u-n-c-t-I-o-n- t-e-s-t-
[EDIT] Nope. No strikethrough function.
Dang!
Can
Ducks
Fly?
Yes, ,this duck did! Woot!
Just testing on my iPad
test 1
test 2
test 3
It works ! Thanks for sharing
Yay!! My bullet point worked!!
Everybody's doing bullet points with double spacing. I could do this, but I couldn't do it without double spacing. Leave a blank line before your bullet points & they won't be double spaced.
