And my December empties. Again, no pics as I didn't hold onto my junk, but there might be another photo of me wearing a sheet mask to come:
Ego Sunsense Sensitive Invisible Sunscreen samples x2 - the last of those samples. I have 2 fuller sizes to finish up over the next couple of months.
Lanolips Coconutter Lip Balm + Lano Coconutter Hand Cream x2 - always repurchase.
Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme (travel size) - love this stuff & the travel size is cute, albeit difficult to extract product from once there's little left. I wish I'd grabbed more of these travel size ones whilst in Miami, but they were impossible to find. Luckily for me, I have a full size one here at home.
Korres Water Lily Blossom Body Milk (travel size) - love this too, have used it before in a full size & really enjoyed the scent. Will definitely buy another full size if I find it on my next Mecca trip (which I couldn't when I went to buy it).
Swisspers Cotton Buds (travel pack) - just cotton buds, nothing special. Wouldn't buy them myself, but would use another travel pack as they came in handy.
Acure Radically Rejuvenating Under-Eye Hydrogels x2 - see post above.
Dr Jart Cicapair Calming Sheet Mask - got this courtesy of the Sephora event I went to at the end of last year. I decided to use it after giving myself a lactic acid peel, just to see if it would soothe my slightly reddened skin. 1st things 1st: this mask didn't fit me well around my nose. Granted, I have a long & skinny nose bridge, but it was far too wide in the bridge part & not long enough at the tip. Elsewhere the fit was a bit better and there was a lot of excess serum, which I didn't use up because I cba. The mask smelt nice; but I wouldn't buy it as Dr Jart isn't cruelty free from memory, their stuff costs a small bomb & as mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of sheet masks.
Justice Professional Smooth & Groom (travel size) - I do like this product - it does make my hair smooth - but I don't like it enough to purchase a full tube. I've received plenty of samples & travel sizes via BH before & have enjoyed using them, but for some reason this isn't a produuct I feel I need in my life on the regular.
Lano Coconutter Body Milk - oooooh I really liked this. Despite being on the thick side & taking a while to rub in if you squeeze out too much, it really leaves your skin feeling oh so soft & smooth. Unfortunately for me, I go through body creams like I do hand creams - quickly - and so I can't justify buying this on a regular basis. That said, I would purchase it again if I were going on holidays and/or Lano created another Coconutter gift pack like the 1 I bought from DJ's, which had this + the Coconutter lip balm + the Coconutter Intense Hand Cream.
Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil - was ok; only got a couple of uses out of it. Wouldn't purchase as I've got 2 facial oils in my stash & this wasn't special enough to usurp either of them.
Lanolips Coconutter Lip Balm - got this little sample from Beauty Bazaar, easy to use up when you love a product. ;o)
Shanghai Tang Mandarin Bath Gel - nicked this from my Fort Lauderdale hotel room as I liked it enough to keep using it. I've got another travel sized tube that I'm squirrelling away for my next trip.
Dr Roebuck's No Worries Hydrating Face Moisturiser - thought this was ok & certainly hydrating; but it smells faintly of lavender & every beauty lover worth their salt knows how irritating lavender can be on the skin, so I wouldn't want to put this stuff on my face on a daily basis. Wouldn't buy this.
THREW OUT/LEFT BEHIND IN A HOTEL ROOM (LOL)
The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid (travel size/deluxe sample) - wasn't a fan of the consistency of this (too thin compared with The Ordinary's HA) + I broke out in scab-like growths on my face & neck whilst using it. I was convinced this was the culprit & I'm still somewhat convinced it was the culprit, however, I also think that Trilogy's Vital Moisturising Cream could've also been a culprit as I finished up a travel pot that I'd been keeping some product in for my travels at around the same time as I left this behind in my Seattle hotel room. All I'll say is gimme The Ordinary's HA any day over this crap.
Hunter Lipid Vitamin Face Oil (travel size) - left this behind in NYC, along with 2 other Hunter samples & a Syrene sample. I'd already brought The Ordinary's Argan Oil with me & since I preferred that to this, it made sense to leave it behind & leave it to a good home. Wouldn't buy it.
Lush Charity Pot (95g size) - I was using this for about a week when I noticed it had done the same things to my limbs as The Inkey List HA/Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream had done to my face & neck: broken me out in scab-like growths in a number of places. I think I may be experiencing issues with glycerin all of a sudden, which is contained in both this + the other 2 culprit products I've mentioned; however, I will have to investigate this further by process of monitor & eliminate. I also noticed that the scent of this had changed slightly since I bought it last August (it had turned more musky) & upon final use I also noticed my skin felt a tad itchy with this on, so I left it behind in Vancouver. Either way, I wouldn't purchase it or any other Lush products in future as they're all heavily scented.
Lanolips Tinted SPF30+ lip balm (Rhubarb) - threw this out as I rarely use it (naughty, I know), it irritates my lips if I wear it on its own (I'm always having to apply another lip balm underneath it) & it's also around 1 year old, so the SPF has probably worn off. I don't think I'll purchase another one tbh.
My empties for December are as follows:
COSMETICS THAT I'M DECLUTTERING
I decluttered some makeup four months ago, but I’ve just done another one that was more ruthless.
Jane Iredale Eye Pencils:
Jane Iredale Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation:
Jane Iredale PurePressed Blush:
Lily Lolo lipstick in Passionate Pink: This is a lovely natural-based lipstick. It is a great hot pink shade, but it has a bit too much warmth in it (at least with my complexion). I have other hot pink lipsticks that have a strong cool undertone that I reach for more often.
Eye of Horus Jewel Amethyst Goddess Pencil: I have the pencils in other shades and they’re good, but this one is too murky for my taste. Murky colours don’t show up around my eye area.
M.A.C Burgundy Times Nine palette:
Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette: This was an impulse purchase when I was buying a few other Tarte products. The eyeshadows blend out into nothing, they’re very dusty and I never reached for it. I wish that I had read more reviews for the palette before hastily ordering it (I only saw the positive reviews).
Make Up For Ever Let's Gold Eye Palette: I wasted my money on this palette because it has too many warm-toned shades for my taste. I could easily have done with one-quarter or half the amount of warm shades. Although the shades look different in the pan, many of them looked similar on my skin. A couple of the shades didn't work well due to their texture.
I learned a lot by using the above palettes because they made me rethink what I really need when buying them.
M.A.C Tinted Lipglass:
Benefit BADgal BANG! Mascara:
Lancôme Monsieur Big:
Youngblood Liquid Mineral Foundation: This is a lovely foundation but it didn’t provide enough coverage, especially on my cheeks where I have broken capillaries. Considering the product’s price, I expected better coverage. I’d recommend this foundation for someone that likes a light coverage foundation and one that doesn’t have as many synthetic ingredients compared to other brands.
Vapour Velvet Gloss in Deva: When I looked at swatches of this shade, it seemed to have a pigment of rose-brown. In real life, this shade did not show up on my lips which makes it a very expensive almost transparent lip gloss. The product felt nourishing and light on my lips and it has a lovely fruity scent.
Blessed by Nature Nutrient Rich Hand and Nail Cream:
Glow Lab Blackberry & Bay Body Wash:
Glow Lab Coconut & Sandalwood Body Wash:
Glow Lab Coconut & Spiced Fig Hand Wash:
ecostore Body Wash :
SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
Antipodes Ananda Antioxidant-Rich Gentle Toner: This is a lovely toner that has an earthy rose scent. Sometimes it left a subtle tacky feel on my skin.
Sukin Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser:
Jurlique Moisture Plus Rare Rose Lotion:
Blessed by Nature Purifying Cleansing Wipes – gift with purchase from the recent Priceline goody bag: (I put all of the other products in my Share the Dignity charity bags)
Glow-Lab Leave-in Conditioner:
Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Manuka Honey Healing Balm:
These are my product empties for the past 6 months.
I hope you enjoy them, lovelies.
Left to right:
Sanctuary Spa body scrub; nice and very creamy but I prefer more scrubby than cream. Not for me.
Ombra (Aldi brand) Sunscreen is really lovely, very light and no cast at all. I repurchased it already.
Purito sunscreen (Yes style) recommended by Dr dray. I love it and repurchased it already, not scented, very light and no white cast.
Lush Love Lettuce Face mask; ok, no repurchase for me. Just ordinary mask.
Hug me lip Butter; lovely product, hydrating and lovely packaging. I have to finish my stash before repurchasing.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10%; I love this product, the only product that I tried from the ordinary that actually worked. My skin texture was smooth and plump. I'm quite happy with the results. ( I tried Buffet from the ordinary and the retinoid ) and did nothing to my skin. I was disappointed with them.
Elizabeth Arden Pretty perfume; Fresh and feminine. I wouldn't repurchase just because I like to try new scents all the time.
Tarte Tartiest Mascara; Volume and lengthening perfection. This Mascara provided me with both things that my lashes lack.
A'kin Australia Tea tree oil Face Sheet mask; The scent is very strong. My skin felt cleaned and fresh. Priceline beauty bag product. I would repurchase it in the future.
Ralph Lauren Woman Body lotion; Part of a perfume set. It has warm scent very oriental and floral. I'm not repurchasing because I love trying new things all the time.
Natio hand cream (soothing Lavender); I liked it and my daughter too, very hydrating and not greasy. I will repurchase it on sale though, cheaper and better value.
Derma E Vitamin C Serum (Priceline beauty bag); No miracles here just a normal serum.
Batiste Dry Shampoo for brunettes; The product is fine personally I like it. The scent is fresh and it provides some volume however the color creates a layer of build-up and that's why I only use it once a week. I buy it on sale for better value.
L'oreal Magic retouch in dark brown; This product helped to cover my hair gaps and my greys so I will always be grateful. Easy to apply and very light on the hair, Brilliant. I repurchased it already full price. It is an essential product in my routine.
Regarding the Sanctuary Spa body scrub, I don't think creamy body scrubs do much exfoliating (scrubs with a few scrubby particles with a high percentage of cream). Some people give them good reviews, but I wonder if this is because the creamy scrubs give the illusion of smoother skin from the cream.
I think they give the illusion of a softer skin but they don't do much for me. I always prefer the scrubby ones. what about you Petal?
Thanks omyara for the feedback on the Ombra facial light feel sunscreen. Such a bargain at $2. It sold out so quickly when it came out as a special buy a couple of weeks ago.
Hi Jupiter, I love ombra sunscreen it is my holy grail. Light and melts in the skin, I guess I missed out, sad face. I hope my Aldi still has some.
You may still find some at your local Aldi, it's just that mine had none a couple of weekends ago, and I had to try another suburb 20 minutes away.
I've been using the Aldi sunscreens a bit lately. Really like them! Such a bargain too!
I ordered the Aveeno daily moisturising body wash from the Beauty Heaven Rewards Room as I was not so pleased with another body wash I was using. This product delivered well.
I was provided the Q10 Power Anti-Age Multi-Action Pampering Oil for 60+ Skin as part of the Trial Team for Beauty Heaven.
