I'm thinking of writing a blog on the benefits of vitamin E. There's been some chat about it in the forums and I feel like it's one of those good ol' trusted skin care ingredients that need to be revisited.
What do you all think?
My interest in all of these specific vitamins is how and where do I fit them all in my skincare routine. With so many different types of creams with this vitamin and that vitamin, how can we incorporate them all so we're reaping the most benefit.
I read an interesting article recently that said vitamin E can be a tricky ingredient to use too. It's heavy so it can exacerbate breakouts and also it's best used paired with other vitamins, like vitamin C.
Sounds like a great ingredient to be highlighting in an article because it's a bit of a misunderstood, or possibly less understood skincare ingredient.
I love vitamin E products as well. I always keep a big bottle of vitamin E capsules at home. I break open a capsule to get rid of scars, burnt marks and also mix it with olive oil and moisturising creams with wonderful results.
I think a refresher article on benefits of Vitamin E is great idea.I have a great little tube of concentrated Vitamin E which we received at the BH birthday party and I find I use it alot for my DIY creams and lotions.
Currently using Vitamin E mixed with almond oil as a nightime eye cream and found it is helping heaps to rehydrate my under eye area.
I have also been using it on a scar which I got from burning myself while cooking and found it has been working great to reduce the scarring.
I love the idea of mixing vit e with almond oil, there's a story in that. thanks. xx
I remember when Vitamin E was very popular as a digestive food capsule in the '70s but then a couple of decades later it was given a bad rap if it was over-used as a food additive. Thankfully I think now that we've hit 2018 a lot of products have it well balanced in their formula. Phew for that. I wonder if it really matters if it comes from a real plant source or if it comes from a lab.
So interesting that it was a popular digestive food capsule. I didn't know this. And great questions about where it comes from. Thanks so much. xx
Vitamin E in products makes me break out too, so I avoid it.
I reckon it beats aloe vera for sunburn.
This is a great topic, Kristy. I would love to know more about it in skincare product's & etc. How it benefit's the skin & what should I avoid. My sunscreen that I'm currently using at the moment (Banana Boat SPF30+) Has this in it & I really like that, Even if I can get it on it's own would be great.
I have mixed a few drops of Vit E into my moisturizer in the past and they have worked wonders in my skin. It definitely works.
I think it's a good idea to write about Vitamin E benefits. I love this types of articles and read about Vitamin E advantages in different websites like WebMD, Zovon, healthline, livestrong, etc. The ideas and in-depth research of these pages can help you.
I'd be interested in vitamin c too as I need something to help with pigmentation.
I always believed in vitamin e especially for scars and have recommended it for years.
However when I went looking for studies / research for same- including the benefits- I found that there is actually no evidence for same. Apart from it being a good antioxidant- interesting hey.
If you can find more Id be interested.
I am currently trialling some Alpha H vitamin E, it's interesting to read all these articles and suggestions!
I would love to learn more about vitamin E and vitamins in general. When I was little my mom used to add vitamin E gel capsules to all her creams and shampoos, this is something I still do today. I even have some gel capsules on my desk and pop one every once in a while.
I have tried the pure Vie E cream and it is very rich and makes a good healing cream for dry sensitive skins . That's all I know.
Vit E straight on the skin could irritate some skin, so not advised by skin doctors.
I really like The Body Shop's Vitamin E skincare range.
Yes I have used the Vitamin E range by The Body Shop, the vitamin E cream smells amazing and the vitamin E oil is wonderful, have bought it few times and I always get compliments when I use the oil.
Vitamin E is great so is Vitamin C in products.
I use vitamin E on pimples that have broken open as a way of healing them faster and it works, also it prevents the area from scarring which is a MAJOR benefit!
Wow! I didn’t know that vitamin E could heal broken pimples! What product have you tested?
Vitamin E as an antioxidant helps to maintain overall health preventing various diseases. It’s a fat-soluble vitamin and also helps in the proper functioning of the organs, various activities related to enzymes, preventing heart disease, high blood pressure and some neurological activities as well.
It neutralizes the free radicals that generated in the body through various physiological process that causes the aging. So, intake of vitamin E can counter balance the aging effects and boost your eternal beauty.
This is for this thread. I need such type of skin care now. If you suggest vitamin e benefits. so, there is very useful for me.
Apparently, using it by itself is too potent for the skin so best incorporated in a carrier oil, lotion or cream along with one or more of the following: vitamin C, A, niacinamide and ferulic acid.
I have been using this brow mascara for years now, and am still in love with it! I use it all the time, especially when I am in a rush, and need to do my brows fast!
This is the first time I tried Blessed by Nature Face Cream . I have tried their cleanser before and I'm pretty much convinced the smells will always be refreshing.
I have the matte lipstick in the shade pink plaid which is a beautiful matte pink shade with mauve undertones, when applied looks very retro, and is pretty long lasting.
