What are your thoughts? Which is better ?
I like to use a mixture of both MAC is great but expensive I like mostly maybelline as it’s affordable and readily available
Thanks so much I have never tried Mac I have tried Napoleon before but I found it gave me hives all the time
I use a mix of both but I think there are some really great cheaper brands available! I love Australis and Innoxa, Models Own also have some great products and all of those are available at Priceline. When it comes to foundation though I can't look past NARS foundations, they work so well for my skin!
Some of the cheaper makeups are just as good as the expensive ones. Sometimes you really are just paying for the name
I like makeup without silicone since it makes me breakout. Also a pain to clean off - have to double cleanse. I love nude by nature anything. .
i personally think its personal preference. I really cant live with out my maybelline foundation over my too faced born this way foundation and i love my benefit hoola bronzer over other drugstore bronzer. i personally love how you can have a nice face of makeup with drugstore products though! xx
I have given up on cheap makeup. I found that I have way better luck with Mecca/Sephora brands. Even though they are more expensive, in the long run I would be wasting more money on trying out cheap stuff which may or may not work.
I have skin on the sensitive side and I’ve definitely found the more expensive brands work better for me. I’m currently using M.A.C foundation and powder, and arbonne mascara. Just started trialling Estée Lauder foundation and really liking it so far.
I think if you can find a good heap product that works for you, go for it!
This site is great because you can sift through reviews and eat an idea of those less expensive products that might actually be amazing. Like I saw in a recent forum post that Essence mascara is amazing, and it’s super cheap.
I do a mixture of both! But in all honesty, for safety-wise, I'll never use anything cheap near my eyes or on my lips. Think about the chemicals that could enter your eyes or mouth!
I usually do cheap for foundations and concealers. I like high end for eyeshadow palettes.
I'm the opposite!
It really depends on what product, but overall it really comes down to the application. Personally eyeshadows palettes like morphe or urban decay are my favourite.
I use both. Tend to splurge on foundations and creams and lean toward cheaper eyeshadows , lip products.
I think you need to define what you consider to be cheap vs professional makeup as some peoples definitions may vary.
I consider brands such as ulta3, MUD, mode and elf to be cheap and I find that often you can tell that makeup is not that great in regards to smoothness of application or longevity. Generally I don't look at purchasing any of these brands when I go looking for makeup and I currently own nothing by any of these brands.
I consider brands such as Maybelline, Revlon, Max Factor, Bourjois and Rimmel to be around the middle range point (some are lower and some are higher in price but I don't consider these to be 'cheap' or too 'pricey') and this is where I get most of my makeup (generally on half price sales at chemists or supermarkets), there are some hits and misses but there are more hits than misses and I have no issues using these brands on a daily basis.
'Professional makeup' I consider to come from brands such as MAC, Sephora, YSL, Dior, Urban Decay and Benefit. I do/have owned some products from these brands and though they are more likely to be 'hits', generally the quality is better and I can feel the difference, I cannot justify buying products from these brands to use on a daily basis.
There are also a few brands which may put themselves at the middle range or professional price points but actually belong to a lower price point and unfortunately for some of those you are mainly paying for the brand.
Generally speaking products which belong to the mid range point are affordable for me and do what I need them to do, therefore making those brands 'better' to me.
I have struggled with every single bb cream I have ever tried as even the lightest shades are always too dark and orange for me. Finally, finally, a bb cream that is actually light and not orange!
This is pretty much a wet wipe.
It's individually packaged which is convenient, and easy to slip into my bag.
