Korean makeup & skincare - my experiences and please share yours!
The list below is my personal experience with Korean brand makeup and beauty products. I've been converted for about 3 years when I picked some up overseas while in Asia and hooked ever since!
Please share your experiences and brands - I've only touched on a few! Some general notes I'll start with:
Skincare – oil cleansers, solid oil balms, essences, ampoules, serums, confused? Read this helpful board on Reddit, it explains all the steps for Asian skincare and also some ingredients to look out for https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/2jcss2/asian_skincare_101_a_beginners_guide_faq/
Looking for trusted online sellers? check out this list on Reddit of trusted sellers people are purchasing through. https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/290to0/giant_list_of_websites_ebayers_etc/
also thanks to Preciousia this site also analyzes products and gives you a breakdown of ingredients: http://www.cosdna.com/
Asian Beauty Reddit is another board I stalk on a regular basis, it's pretty helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/
edit to add I just tidied up the first post as I was getting tired scrolling past that long one lol

Definitely feels effective
This product is based on plant stem cells! Such a great concept. Andalou is an American company, cruelty free and vegan, so good! Packaging is simole. And clean looking.
Delicious smell
I received this sunscreen from Beauty Heaven as part of
A trial (thank you beauty heaven)!
Does the job
Foot and heel balm plus.
First of all, thank you Beauty Heaven for letting me try this product!

Nuh uh! :)
Tester Korea are having a Black Friday sale now until 18.11 but get in quick for the good stuff, just picked up a few great items for half price!
http://www.testerkorea.com/
I got the Missha Borabit ampoule dupe of the ANR (I have used so many bottles, nice to get it this cheap), another No Sebum powder, the Pyunkang Yul moisture ampoule (so hard to snap up on sale it goes quickly everywhere!), some cosrx patches, Heimish balm cleanser (their eye patches are on sale) plus a few other Touch in Sol items
I'm tempted to get the Whamisa range but I don't think the prices for those are actually cheaper than what I normally get for them from Sweetcorea. I've never purchased from Testerkorea before but the Missha Borabit ampoule 50% price is the same price at Sweetcorea. Pyunkang Yul ampoule is cheaper on sale at Testerkorea but only by about $4 compared to Sweetcorea.
How is Testerkorea shipping? Sweetcorea is pretty fast for a Korea-based business. They also messaged me when I ordered the blue Urang oil and notified me that there was a newer formulation if I was interested with a later expiry date that they wanted to send me instead. Stellar service.
I've used them a lot because they can get brands that other places don't have and they also have Touch In Sol products that I use a lot and Sweet Corea doesn't stock them as often. The Pyunkang Yul is on sale there too I noticed but if I buy from both it's not worth it. I get points discount at Tester Korea, not sure does Sweet Corea do points?
Shipping is KPacket so I usually get within a week of shipping notice, but I'm regional here so I guess it could be quicker for metro. They are maybe a little too generous with their samples though lol, I have so many! Last order they gave me 2 Italy cloths, a full set of deluxe minis from Lotree, a Secriss face mask and several pouch samples.
Sweetcorea doesn't do discount points. Sweetcorea 365 outlet is insane though. About 2400 pages but I find really hard to source skincare items that I never thought they would stock. I might have a bit of a longer gander at Testerkorea though, but it's too dangerous for me!
don't look! it does get a bit overwhelming and I probably should unsubscribe from the mailing lists because it tempts me so much, FOMO. I hauled a little too much Naruko so I didn't need more products but serums are different, can never have enough serums! Pimple patches are a necessity and the no sebum powder is great for summer - see that justification lol.
Now we really need that Taiwanese thread so you can tell us about Naruko - also on my list!
I just ordered the new green Papa Recipe sheet masks that are all the rage in Japan from Sweetcorea, as well as the new Dr Jart+ Cicapair Calming Gel Cream which is currently on sale.
My ban is going terribly...
I love sweetcorea, I buy all my dr jart there and they have such good prices, range and fast shipping. Been trying to find a local alternative to the ceramidin cream but will probably end up repurchasing.
I LOVE the Ceramidin Cream - want to repurchase badly but I have so many other brands to get through! Sweetcorea is the cheapest place I've purchased Dr Jart+ from so far.
someone was telling me about a Dr Jart tinted ceramide product that is supposed to be really good, can't remember what it was called :( anyone tried it or know it?
There's Dr. Jart Ceramidin Day Tint SPF 15 but I have never used. I don't really like tinted products. Otherwise, there's Dr. Jart+'s Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 - I think this might be what you're talking about. I have it and use it. It comes in a tub, which is the only thing I don't like about it. It really reduces the appearance of redness but there are a lot of goodies in it to help with healing blemishes. Makes my skin look normal when I'm actually in the midst of a breakout.
Looks like Wishtrend is set to have a massive Black Friday sale starting 19 Nov - can't wait to see what the discount is but I think they said 80% and lots of freebies!
Wishtrend Black Friday sale has started and the discounts are good. If you're going to buy anything I have a promo code that will get you US$5 - a bit measly but still worth something! They also have 50% discounts on a few of the Cosrx range.
Promo code: 2016871004
RoseRoseShop is having their Black Friday sale now. Lots of great brands and discounts up to 70% and popular products and big brands included

Stop it! I just dropped a ton of cash at Wishtrend and Beauty Bay! (...goes to check out RRS.)
There were over 3,000 products on offer so it will take a while!
I filtered the products by brand from the drop-down menu. Really helps narrow down what I might be interested in. Although given that I now resort to keeping track of my stash with an Excel spreadsheet, I think you can imagine the size of that stash.
It also goes without saying (although I'm saying it) that I absolutely, cannot, buy, any more, sheet masks. I organised at least half the stash into a box and it's shocking that it's only half.
Hi Ethelinde, how often do you use a sheet mask?
2-4 times a week.
Thanks.
Are you buying anything duality? Thankfully a lot of what I want appears to be sold out. The site is awfully slow as well likely due to increased traffic. Wishtrend was a nightmare to load.
Ethelinde I did purchase, but it was a couple hours before I posted it here as I was supposed to be working on my computer but I had other tabs open lol. Lots of repeat purchase things but I got the Cosrx concealer, The Saem Mineralizing Camouflage Balm, a couple packs of the Lacto Saccharomyces Golden Rice Masks, the Laneige lip mask in vanilla, a back up of the Banila cleansing balm and the standard cosrx pimple patches and the Cosrx Rice overnight sleeping mask. Only a small few were sold out as I bounced virtually straight off the email so was in pretty quick and it wasn't slow for me.
Have you used the Lacto Saccharomyces Golden Rice Mask before? I've used quite a few of the JMsolution range but not that one yet. Curious to know your thoughts.
Yes!! I have and I loved them, but then again my skin loves rice and ferments so I guess I would love it lol. It has one naughty ingredient (mineral oil) but it seems all good with my skin and other water based essences and serums work over it so I'm not too fussed. Wasn't keen on the pearl ones though and usually I love pearl.
