Inspired by TheUglyDuckling on the thread here: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/talkback/share-your-monthly-empties?page=14#comment-2689856

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque is a good working facial mask. It contains cranberry and turmeric which is great for the skin.

Simple Reviving Under-Eye Hydrogel Mask is a really good product. It applies under the eyes and offers hydration for the eyes. It contains minerals and plant extracts that are good for the skin.

Thanks ladies :)
Preciousia, that was what drew me to NIOD. I love that the packaging is understated and the contents are very clinical. I've done a lot of research on the products and I really like how they think, i.e. instead of trying to target superficial signs of aging, they focus on long term skin health and regeneration. This is what I need from my skincare, as I don't have wrinkles or other signs of aging but I can see the effects of stress on my skin.
annette81 :) i think that is what draws me too. Quality ingredients, potent strength that works. I don't need a supermodel to sell it me. Just tell me the ingredients. The Deciem group is also the ones that makes Indeed Laboratories
Good choice picking NIOD!
check this article about the founder http://cosmeticsmag.com/news/2015/2/23/meet-deciem-the-toronto-beauty-disruptor
i am constantly finding copy cats of my doc's private formulaes and i can't find them on the shelves. seriously. There is too much fillers in majority of products.
NIOD Copper looks like good stuff! I would buy it myself. personally i am using Skinstut copper serum called Rejuvenate. I try to buy local if i can.
I am still experimenting
Day routine
the one with no name is Mad Hippie repackaged in an airless pump bottle.
pretty happy with everything for the next 6 months apart from day moisturiser and sunscreen which may swap/change.
How do you like Evolu cream preciousia? I so want to use it, but was overwhelmed with all of the creams lately. The tube is big, and will last us for ages =)
I think it's good. i don't think it's moisturising enough since i started using it in winter a few months after maslow sent it. i used it mainly on my neck :P I use it on the face in since last month, it's nice enough. You're right that is is a very generous size 75ml. sometimes i apply a few layers of it esp on the neck. :) i thought it'll be perfect for warmer weather likesummer too. so wait till then to start. i am about half way through it now. but if you supplement with facial oils anyways, it should be perfect to use right now. I don't use facial oils in the morning, only at night.
oddly the Linden Eye cream from Maslow isn't moisturising enough either. I am waiting till my Bobbi Brown one finishes.. so it'll be probably about summer time.
opps i forgot to add bobbi brown eye cream in there. hehe i knew i forgot something
Yep, I found the same with the Linden eye cream....will also wait till summer, very hot weather, days to use both...till then will be best then to use this timing and open the ASAP pack. Before the summer and harsher sun (even though for me it feels like summer already!), just in case...if all the stuff becomes a bit strong for my 'virgin' face, no beaches lol
maybe they released NZ box in summer...we got it late, that's why we complain not moisturising enough.
Spring weather is the best! not too hot.
Night routine
Starting with Swisse micellar cleanser, Cetaphil (sometime that changes), PDP toner, NOW Dark Spot Serum, Mad Hippie Vit C, COSRX Galactomyces 95, Azelique Cream & Eye Cream, Skin Actives Restoration Cream, Jurlique, Lanolips, Tretinoin, A'kin RHO, CosRx Snail Cream.
lots i've decanted here. 5 bottles altogether.
I used to be like you, preciousia, but I got tired of layering so much for very little return. Now my routine is simple, streamlined and targeted. I don't really worry about using every single ingredient anymore, because I was probably doing it wrong and cancelling them out! I also needed to reduce the time required for my routine as my daughter has reached toddler stage and I just don't have the time anymore.
i understand where you are coming from annette81 your routine looks great by the way! you have selected such nice brands and products as well!
doesn't take long for me thought it may seem like lots. the serums dry really fast. i've done the shorter method. just 1 cream and this.. i can definitely see the difference in my current routine. if it wasn't better, i wouldn't bother. i do them in stages too... i usually need a break after the Jurlique step. :) then tretinoin break then the rest

Have just rem reading this important bit. Highlighting to you as you use copper 4x a week or more. It came to me in the middle of my sleep, woke up to write it lest I forget.
I remember reading this though I forget where, if I find the source, I will post. Copper is to be used on skin that require healing. If used on healthy skin, copper can have adverse effect, like a double edged sword.
Personally, copper is one of my fave ingredients as I posted in the other thread. http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/skincare/ingredients-in-skincare I only use it as a spot treatment on damaged skin and only when necessary. I do not use copper when my skin is not having any problems, ie healthy. The results will plateau after some time after healing the skin, and it may turn healthy skin bad potentially. Ie lead to Ageing.
I do implore you to do some research on your own & find out if the regular usage you are using is advisable.
I remember the warnings the doctor gave me whenever he give me potent stuff, they require doctor supervision. Some ingredients need better understanding before usage ESP if used without supervision. This is one good ingredient that can potentially go bad if used incorrectly, like Hydroquinone.
One of the other reasons why so many skincare on the shelves OTC are fillers & useless, just in case someone uses it incorrectly ESP w/o doc supervision.
Hope this helps. Xxxx

This thread was a great read......
Wondering if anyone is willing to share undated routines?
I'm just about to shake mine up a bit but here is mine:
AM 1) hylamide high efficiency cleansing esters 2) drunk elephant vitamin c 3) the ordinary argireline solution (eye area only) 4) the ordinary matrixyl 10% or hylamide hyaluronic acid 5) the ordinary magnesium ascorbyl phosphate 6) o cosmetics mineral pro spf 7) chi chi bb cream
PM 1) hylamide high efficiency cleansing esters 2) the ordinary retinol 2% 3) the ordinary argireline solution (eye area only) 4) the ordinary niacinamide + zinc 5) the ordinary buffet 6) the ordinary rose hip oil 7) the ordinary Azelaic acid
I have been using this routine for about a month and it has certainly cleared and brightened my skin . I am 33 years old and seem to have aged dramatically in the last 3 years. I still get hormonal break outs and my skin reacts to just about every acid I try. I also have some mild pidmentation from sun damage that I'm trying to keep at bay (blond and living in Darwin!) .
As this routine has cleared my skin dramatically, my number one concern now is wrinkles around the eye area and forehead.
I will be slowly introducing more of the hylamide and niod products as I use up more of the ordinary as while they can be good, I think a lot of them are produced with cheaper fillers such as silicones to keep the price point down.
I would love to hear from others about your current skincare routine!
My skincare routine has changed quite a lot since last year. Not that my skin is any different, I am just forever trying new products.
Current skincare routine:
AM
Cetaphil
Dermalogica Multi-active toner
Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill serum - I prefer ANR
Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift or Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum
Antipodes Divine Face Oil
L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Day SPF 20
PM
Trilogy cleansing balm (if wearing makeup)
Clinique Liquid Soap Mild (if not wearing makeup)
Dermalogica Multi-active toner
Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill serum
Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift
Antipodes Divine Face Oil
Antipodes Avocado Pear Night Cream
I think skincare is an important think and we should follow a daily skincare routine along with a good healthy diet. One should always use good quality products with natural or good quality ingredients. I use cleansers, toners, moisturizers and anti-aging creams. I really think quality is more important than quantity.
Just reviving this thread because I thought my PM products really overkill. My skin is catching up with the cold and I am not so sure what it wants to do. Last night I used 11 products!!!!!
L'oreal 2 phase eye makeup remover
Goodness cleansing balm
Dermalogica special cleansing gel
Dermalogica skin prep scrub
Dermalogica multivitamin power recovery masque
Beauty by nicholas omega hydroxy
Raccine eye serum
Clinique repairwear eye cream
Goodness mist
The Ordinary HA
Dermalogica Active Moist
Add to that Dr Hauschka Blackthorn body oil, Burts Bee foot cream
Yay! Glad this thread has been revived. My routine and my approach to skincare has changed a lot in the past year. My approach to skincare is to use the least amount of products which are necessary for my skin's health and giving it a boost when it needs it. I have combination skin, usually oily but is dryer in the winter time. I had acne but since the beginning of the year, my skin has gone back to normal and is a lot clearer and smoother. My main concerns are uneven texture, congestion, pigmentation from acne and future breakouts.
Morning:
wash face with water or sukin sensitive cleansing gel (depends how lazy I am)
cetaphil moiturising lotion
sunsense sensitive invisible spf50
Night:
cetaphil moitutising lotion - use like a cleanser to remove makeup
sukin sensitive cleansing gel
the ordinary salicylic acid (depends how my skin feels and how lazy I am)
the ordinary marine hyaluronics (depends on skin and laziness again)
the ordinary ascorbic acid powder with marine (weekly, depends on skin and laziness)
benzac 5% gel (if I have pimples)
cetaphil moisturising lotion
lanolips 101 ointment - eye area and lips
I know I sound very lazy but I take my skincare very seriously. I am very religious with moisturiser, sunscreen and cleanser. Other treatments are just there for extra help.
