A chemist near me gives Clarins facials. I've never used their products before, just wondering who's used them and what are your thoughts.
I've never used them either?! How was the facial?? :)
My brother uses clarins and loves it!
Personally have not tried their products, but a facial sounds good!!
Scent, my mother loves clarins she has so many products from clarins! I have tried their exfoliator and it was fabulous although their products are quite fragranced so it may not be suitable for sensitive skin, but it's up to you.
I love them and have loads of Clarins products, but they are hideously over-priced, and most of their moisturisers are not worth the expense (the extra firming one is particularly ordinary and costs about $110).
I'm crazy about the cleansing milk, the toner, and the multi-active day cream. I also really like the Hydra-Care tinted moisturiser and I LOVE the UV plus protective day screen lotion. It's one of the very few sunscreens that doesn't feel greasy on my face.
I'm having a Clarins facial at David Jones in June - the counter woman saw me coming, lol. She talked me into it when I went in last week to get some cleanser and whatnot while they had a GWP. Oh, that's another good thing - they often have GWPs so you can try new things.
I adore Clarins and use heaps of their stuff. I just got a great GWP at my Myer Clarins counter, check out the GWP thread under Industry Watch, it's got all of the details. This was just a small promo but at the end of April they are having their regular GWP which is when I stock up. I also buy packs which makes skin care much cheaper. I've had several facials at Myer, they charge $40 but it's redeamable on two skin care product. They usually let me get skincare and makeup because I'm a regular. They have a range for sensitive skin too.
Hi lovely Scent, I love Clarins! I don't own a whole lot of their products, but I would imagine a Clarins facial would be fantastic! xoxoxo
I haven't tried anything Clarins asides from the beauty flash balm, which I found really overrated. But I'm desperate to try the melt cleanser - sounds sooo lovely! Anyone tried it?
I used to use Clarins years ago and was the only thing I could find for my acne prone (back then) and oily skin that seemed to help.
I find their products very expensive for what they are and they don't really do much for me. I still have a heap of stuff from a GWP a while back, which I haven't finished because I've found much better (and cheaper!) products for my skin. The Truly Matte foundation isn't bad, but it doesn't last all day & coverage isn't that great. The Oil-Free moisturiser is OK, but it doesn't have SPF & it smells a bit weird! I don't mind the Beauty Flash Blam, but Natio's Glow does a pretty similar job & is about 1/5 the price!
Thanks ladies. I haven't had a facial yet, as I have never used the products before. After reading your posts I might just have a facial, and hopefully not be convinced to buy too much. When it comes to beauty, my arm can be twisted way too easily, lol!!
I love Clarins & have for many years. With troublesome skin their range was the only one 10years back that had products that would work for me. Most of them are plant based, and though yes they are pricey a little goes a long way. For years i would buy them using gift vouchers etc at gwp time or receive them as b'day, Chrissie gifts & have yet 2 find a product of theirs that i don't like! Elmo, the pure melt gel cleanser is awesome, a nice new cleanser worth trying. I prefer Clarins for their skincare & in makeup more for their lip glosses & suncream/after suncare. Tried their foundation years back & wasn't so happy with it, but they have a new range now so i'm sure its as awesome as the rest of their range.
They make lovely products except I cannot use them, I did once and my skin reacted badly, and was told the high plant essential oils do react with some skins.
i have used their products before and their make-up, and I have to say i've been pretty disappointed. I find them very ordinary and overrated. ( I read somewhere that it's one of the highest selling brands?)
I have heaps of clarins products. The pure melt cleanser would be a fave for sure and would totally reccomend it ELMO. It leaves my skin ultra smooth and soft. Their tinted moisturiser is really good as well as the hydra quench moisturiser, its awesome for the winter months when skin tends to dry out a little more. Another one i use from clarins is the blemish control, it comes in a little box and you get 2 ampules with little roll on applicators that you rb over your pimple or blackhead etc. I found it to be awesome and very effective and actually well priced at around $20 for two ampules and it lasts for ages.
The beauty flash balm worked well for me also. I used it when i was sick and my skin looked dull and tired, it certainly gave my skin a much needed pick me up. Another product i tried from clarins a while back was a bust cream. I cant remember the actual name of the cream as a friend bought it for me. But it was amazing, it firmed the skin around the bust and chest and left it feeling soft nd dewy i loved it and would like to buy it again.
Clarins can be expensive for some people i guess but if you find that it works well for your skin its worth spending a few extra dollars on. The genlte day cream is also great for sensitive skin.
Clarins products are fairly expensive but you can purchase them online which is usually less than the department stores. Beauty Flash is a great product and their moisturisers have worked well for me for more than 10 years although I have returned to Lancome for their moisturisers for ageing skins. Clarin's Moisturizing Body Lotion is great and although their Eau Dynamisante isn't skin care but rather a body fragrance, it is also one of the best beauty products ever.
I have used the Clarins toning lotion (both chamomile and iris) and like them both. I am currently using the Beauty Flash Balm which is a wonderful primer and quite cooling on the skin. I haven't used too many other products, although I think there are many other good Clarins products. Although the Hydraquench cream was not rich enough for my dry cheeks.
I love the Hydraquench myself, comes in lotion and cream, plus I use the serum. I find my biggest issue isn't that the moisturiser isn't moisturising enough for my skin but that I get dry, flaky skin and it must be exfoliated because adding moisture to the dead skin isn't going to make a difference. It drives me nuts but I have to exfoliate every couple of days or I get build-up. Have you tried the hydrating mask Eastgirl, I really like it, then I slather on Beauty Flash and Hydraquench for a real moisture hit. I also love the gentle exfoliating cleanser, the orange one, it smells nice and is quite effective as an inbetwen exfoliator.
Oh and I may have mentioned once or twice or twenty times that I just ADORE the Colour Quench Lip Balm.
Eastgirl, have you tried the Beauty Flash Balm as a primer under mineral make up at all (or has anyone else)? I wonder what that would be like.
I adore clarins products. I have a couple of their eye creams. The gel isn't too bad but I'm in love with their eye contour balm. It's perfect! So light and very moisturising. I also have the pure and radiant mask which is brilliant for helping with oil control. The pore minimising serum isn't really worth the money.
Their make up is ok but I dont think I'll be buying again. I have the truly matte range. All of it. lol.
And I have heard excellent things about the beauty flash balm and that is next on my list to buy.
Those of you thinking about getting a clarins facial! DO IT! I've had a few and they are heaven. Although I could prob do most of it myself it's just way more relaxing having someone else do it.
And yes I agree with most of you that they are a little over-priced. But I'm in the phase of sorting out what really works for me and only buying their products that I can't live without. I guess that's all you can ever do.
GWP, the best three little letters in the world in my opinion.
I'm currently trialling a sample of the pure melt cleanser - it's pretty nice, but I think I still prefer my moogoo oil cleanser!
I would totally agree with you girls their products are over priced but some are worth it. I dont know what i would do without Clarin Bueaty Flash Balm its brilliant.
I have also had a few facials thru my beautician with Clarins and i find they give my skin a booster when i need it. Although i dont use any of their moisturisers on a daily basis i still love their products except for their one-step gentle exfoliating cleanser, i always turn out in red rashes and my face gets very irritated. Not sure if its because im not applying Clarins moisturisers afterwards but thats my experience
I'm not a huge Clarins makeup fan, liked their mascara, not so much the foundation but the colour quench lip balm like StayC suggests is gorgeous. So many great colours, some with sparkle through them & even with a nice scent, definitely nice on the lips :) Love their skincare but you do need to find the right regime for your skin. I also like the hydrating facial mask, it does hydrate really well & can even be left on overnight for an extra hydration burst. Star i agree that the the anti blemish sticks are good, they really help calm inflamed, irritated blemishes. lgi, i found the one step gentle exfoliating cleanser a little too much for my sensitive skin also but it works a dream for men as it helps keep their skin exfoliated & soft for shaving, hence i gave mine to a friend!
Im right into Clarins, and Im glad to see a thread regarding this great cosmetic house finally.I love Clarins and have the Energising Morning cream and the Multi Active day cream, both regulars in my skincare shedule. LOVE IT!
m right into Clarins, and I
I'm also liking the Lotus Oil for regulating oil production, smells really nice and I wake up with glowing, soft skin. I've got a couple of lipsticks too, Joli Rouge and Lip Colour Tint, both bright colours and I just love them.
I got this in a pack along with a couple of other products. The natio rose range is lovely and this was no exception. The cream is lightweight and absorbs quickly.
Super in love with the BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector, it ensures that your skin is super hydrated throughout the day.
I have never been one to use an under eye corrector before applying concealer and I am questioning how I did my make up before this!
