What kind of wash & Creams for Acne Rosacea for body & face ?
Hi Rosemarie898, I had really bad Acne Rosacea in my 30's and would cleanse my face twice a day with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (the cream, not the foaming one) and mix about 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda for a slightly exfoliating paste. For body, I would use a very gentle chemical free body wash and sorbolene cream. For creams, the most basic and perfume free creams are best, again Cetaphil or something similar. I also found I could tolerate some natural skincare brands containing chamomile or lavender. I would also apply 100% pure lavender oil neat on any area's that were really red as lavender is anti inflammatory and speeds up healing.
Hope that helps. :-)
My mother swears by Invisible Zinc tinted daywear. She says sometimes that her cheeks hurt so much, they feel like they're bleeding. She sits dabbing on IZ at night, watching TV when her rosacea is giving her pain.
In my nerdy reading, I discovered that rosacea can be caused by (or exacerbated by?) eyelash mites. Most of us have eyelash mites, but those with rosacea tend to have many times more than usual. Eyelash mites can roam over the rest of your face too. Tea tree oil is antimicrobial, it might help. I told my Mum about this, but I don't think she tried it, so I don't know if it works or not.
Ahhh Demodex mites!
Creeped me out when I first heard of them...
So many microscopic beasties living on our skin!
Go to a Dermatologist and get Roaccutane (prescription only) if your rosacea is reeaally bad (like mine was). It will dry out your skin and clear up your rosacea in a matter of weeks.
There are some things you must keep in mind: it will dry out your skin temporarily; it is a downer but this can be balanced by taking Kelp Tablets or eating lots of Sushi; plus you cannot get pregnant whilst taking it.
Definitely consult with your dermatologist but meanwhile, try Azclear lotion 20% and possibly Azclear foaming wash.
Check out Dr Dray on Youtube as she is a fount of information with some really good advice.
Steer clear of spicy foods and red wine...
I usually have very oily skin but lately I've had dermatitis on localised areas of my face - mostly my forehead, sides of the nose, ear lobes and below the brow bone.
A generous gift from the Natural Beauty Month event and Sukin. This mask is suitable for sensitive skin types which I think is a little unusual for a clay mask.
