I find it really hard to wear makeup during the summer time! Anyone know any good base makeup wether it’s a foundation, tinted moisturiser, bb cream etc. that holds up and doesn’t feel gross on the skin??
MAC Face and Body foundation is my pick. It's lightweight, waterproof and lasts a whole day even through hot summer days. It is a dewy, light buildable to medium finish. I have combination skin for reference.
I like the bioderma BB creme's.
ohmynars I always go back to using mineral powder. It doesn't get that oil slick feel to it.
I love BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturiser. I’ve been through countless tubes of this over the years. I actually prefer this over foundation. It gives me a nice coverage, feels nice on my face, and has SPF 30. Get it at Mecca......
It depends on the humidity level of the day.
If it's low I use a dewy brand (my fav is Garnier BB); if I'm going to be in air-con I wear Nivea Daily Essentials with Maybelline dream primer; and on really hot days with high humity I use Lancome Ultra wear with Bioderma primer.
I find the nude by nature mineral foundation nice and light packed on with mineral natural cover powder
My favourite thing to do is to mix a lightweight moisturiser in with my favourite foundation. Give us a lighter coverage with the same formula that I love
As mentioned earlier, MAC face and body is a great option. It feels really lightweight on the skin. It's perfect for summer.
MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation is meant to hold up well in warmer weather:
MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation is another option. I haven't tried this yet, but I assume that its coverage is heavier than the Face and Body Foundation:
Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup has great staying power. I haven't tried this in sweltering hot weather yet, but it might be worth you getting a sample of it. If you don't like the foundation to look too heavy, apply it with a blending sponge:
You could try a setting spray to keep your foundation lasting longer. I've never tried one because most setting sprays contain alcohol which can dry out the skin, and my skin is already dry.
Mineral foundations either powder or liquid work best in hot weather. Look for matte textures in base and if you want glow add it strategically on top of your base.
Some great products to try out in this post - thankyou! The brand I used to use is no longer sold in Au so I will give some of these a go.
Maybelline Dream Satin BB Cream has a nice glow to it
There's a great BB cream you can get at Woolworths - the brand is MUD - it is a pretty good dupe for the IT cosmetics CC cream and at $7.50 on special, I'm loving it. Long-lasting and great coverage
omggg i love it cosmetic cc cream. I should definitely check the MUD out thank you so much
Laura mercier tinted moisturiser is awesome and IT cosmetics CC cream are great but they're very pricey. I honestly sometimes use a medium to heavy duty concealer mixed with a light weight moisturiser and just rub it onto my skin and its all good
Bare minerals complexion rescue gel cream. Tt has a natural finish has spf 30+ is hydrating and easy to apply and go. I wear the shade vanillla and have repurchased a few times now.
NU SKIN's advanced tinted moisturiser with sunscreen. I have been using it for two years now. I used to hate foundations as they dried up my skin and the lines on my face would be more obvious than not applying them, until I tried on NU SKIN's. It is so light but gives your skin a natural glow with uniform color. It is free of talc, petroleum and mineral oil and contains anti-ageing ingrediencies such as vitamin A & E. It also contains sunscreen against UVA & UVB.
Having read all the reviews on BH about Ulta3 products, I just had to check them out for myself.
I have straight, limp and coarse hair. I have been using the shampoo and conditioner combination for 2 weeks now with no problems.
