I have hurendously cracked heels and even a crack going lengthways across each ball. So painful and embarrassingly ugly. i need some heel help!!! Before I'm even game enough to go for a pedicure!
Try NS-8 Heel Balm Complex. Hubby uses this. I nicked it when my heels were bad, it worked wonders in a short period of time! Do not apply to weeping or open skin though. Also check previous recommendation on other threads, plenty of suggestions for dry heels - do "search in posts" on the top right hand corner of the page.
Oh, thankyou music!!
Eulactol heel balm...that's probably not the right spelling. Available from chemists, is fantastic.
I absolutely agree with amy j, i am using it at the moment. grreat stuff! especially when followed with the cotton socks over night routine.
Thanx ladies. I'll give this a try.
Hope it works for you meaghan
Ive found that using heel balms works but what works best is if you get a regular massage to get the circulation flowing - go to someone and get a pedicure regularly but if you cant afford it get your hubby to give you a foot massage on a regular basis.
I use to have the same problem but I moisturise regularly and also use heel balm in conjunction with a good foot rub from my husband and I dont have that problem any more
For a deeper moistorising try Emollient creams on your feet and put a sock over your feel for the night and the extra moisturising should help them to be smooth and soft in the morning
But the key factor is by doing all of the above regularly
I am a big fan of the NS8 heel balm too although i'm going with Ariana's plan and getting the hubby to give me a foot rub :)
After your big cracks have healed and your heels are generally a bit better you could try using one of those "Ped Egg" foot files to keep them in good shape which might help preventing cracks? Not sure but its an idea. I have seen ads for it and it is sold at chickenfeed too! Lol.
Whats chickenfeed? You're right SQ. Once the prob's sorted its going to be a matter of developing a regular foot routine. I'm keeping my eye out for a good home pedicure set. I think it'll be easier if I get what I need to do it at home and I'll be more likely to follow through. Am using the Eulactyl at the moment and it does seem to be helping. Thanks for all the suggestions gal's, my transformation from glummy-mummy to yummy-mummy is underway! LOL
Ok, slight use of poetic license......he he he he
Oh i ALWAYS forget that they dont have chickenfeed on the mainland! It is basically the equivalent of a reject shop or a two dolar shop, i think. It is just a chain of stores which sells pretty much everything from food to beds to china dolls and all this stuff! most of it is really cheap to, but not always good quality. they make really corny ads too! lol. A good pedicure set sounds great meaghan:)
Can I ask where in Tassie you're from SQ? I lived in Deloraine for a couple of years a while back. God it's beautifull! We've actually tossed around the idea of moving down there over the past couple of months. It's just the logistics and expense of moving from NSW. I think it would be a beautiful place to bring up the kids. Well, thats if it hasnt changed to much in the last 15 years! lol
The body shop sells stuff for your feet they are like files. :)
I bought one today it works pretty well.
I second the Eulactol and the Avon feet products are pretty good too. Remember to wear your cotton socks to bed with it on. I also second regular pedi's and husbands who rub feet.
I defintely agree on the Eulactol heel balm. It does wonders. I pop it on at night with cotton socks over the top and in the moring they are nice and smooth. I also use Heros chiroprody sponge in the shower. They are really cheap and you just buff off the dry skin. You get them from pharmacies.
I live in Dynnyrne which is near south hobart and sandy bay in hobart. It is a really great place to live, but there are a lot of things we pale in compared to the mainland! But yeah with all the wilderness and everything. Though in recent times the government has made some really stupid decisions, namely the bloody pulp mill! David Bartlett, our premier, said when he was campainging he would end government support for a massive pulp mill to be built in the launceston tamar area and now that he has been elected it looks like it still might go ahead! We have this wonderful green image but it is slowly dying due to the fact that we have so much old growth forests being logged, pulp mills bieng built and what not. Sorry didnt mean to rant but it is one thing i really hate! And forestry is a big debate in tassie. Anywhoo, if you do choose to live here i think you will find it quite nice:)
Hi Style Queen,
I just got back from a week in Tassie tonight...went to Hobart and Strahan, it was absolutely beautiful (although you guys really give Melbourne a run for it's money in the weather changing every 5 minutes stakes!). We spent a few days in each place, and did the Gordon river cruise in Strahan, so beautiful and the most friendly locals I've met since I lived back home in the country...the staff from the cruise even came up and chatted to us in the pub after they'd finished work.
We're planning another trip soon to see the rest.
Hey amy j
that sounds great! I havent been to strahan for a long time but it is really nice donw there. Oh god i know what you mean about the weather, yesterday me and my family had a barbaque out on the balcony and it was really nice about 20 something and today it was freezing and pouring with rain! Very quick changes around here hehe. Thats great i hope you do come back and have a great time:)
Just an update. Have been using the Eulactol for about4 days now and last night gave my feet a good soak and scrub with one of those pedicure paddle thingys. Things are looking up, my feet are softer, pinker, healthier looking and......... more sensitive! Ahh, getting rid of all of the tuff stuff means I can feel every inch that I walk on. Its nice though, I'm really enjoying putting myself back together - if that makes any sense?
Glad your feet are looking healthier... that Eulactol is wonderful :o)
And yup scrubbing will certainly get rid of the tuff stuff!
Just imagine how pretty your feet are gonna look for summer?!
Oh yay meaghan! Glad to hear you are noticing improvements. Oh yep it does make sense i knwo what you mean, heres to putting yoursel back together and pampering yourself more:) x
Interesting post. I just got a sample of the Eulactol heel balm from my local pharmacy and will try it. If it's really good, I'll buy some for myself and my poor mum who also has very cracked heels. It's so nice to be able to get onto bh and see if anyone else has used the products I am thinking of trying :-)
Try 'Liquid Pedicure' by POD Puraceuticals it contains naturally friendly ingredients that get rid of cracked dry skin without the need for harsh scraping - it also moisturiese and has anti-fungal ingredients to help prevent this happening again!
And here's another minion!
As a user of Lycon products in the past, I was really intrigued to try this at-home tanning mousse. Lycon is a salon-quality brand so I was really excited to give this a go.
