Anyone experienced bleeding gums?
I have a few questions.
1. Do you know the cause of it?
2. How do you stop it?
Babe's you should go to the doctor & get checked out. Bleeding gums can be caused by lots of things from the little to quite serious issues. Im not inclined to give much advice due to this but see your gp. Hope you have someone to go with you.

Thank you for your concern! I will asap!
If you are getting regular dental check ups and 6 monthly cleans then this wouldn't be a question, get yourself along to your hygienist or dentist asap,
Yes, it's usually a symptom of gum disease, often caused by poor dental hygiene. Regular flossing will help, but you should see your dentist as duality has suggested.
Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for your advice!
Bleeding gums can be a sign of gingivitis, which can develop into the more serious stages of gum disease. Book yourself in to your Dentist for a checkup and a teeth clean.
Cheers, I will get a check up asap!
I did years ago and went to a dentist who diagnosed it, thank goodness it was in the early stages and I got treated for it. Please book yourself into a dentist asap, it can get nasty if left
Thanks for your comment. I feel like mine is the beginning stages too (it doesn't bleed much just when I floss sometimes), how did you get yourself treated out of curiosity?
I can sympathize my gums bleed as well every few days or so but nothing excessive but I know how annoying it can be, I do have quite sensitive teeth as well which contributes but definitely see a dentist just to make sure it's not early stages if gum disease or something like that.
Yes same! So your experience wasn't anything too bad right? I'll get it checked asap!
Sorry I didn't respond I only saw this in my messages today!! My experience was ok, nothing serious just sensitive teeth. I do notice if I use an electric toothbrush they do bleed more than with a normal one.
Sometimes my gums bleed if I floss too hard or too much but then it seems to be ok afterwards. You should maybe see a dentist if you're concerned.
Same! What did your dentist say?
the first symptom my brother had of his leukemia was bleeding gums.. common symptom .. could just be gingivitis or plaque build up but you need to get checked.
Thanks for the warning. I'll get it checked asap!
There are so many different reasons for bleeding gums!
Gingivitis is probably most likely, but it's definitely worth getting checked by your dentist. I recently had bleeding/receding gums which was caused, surprisingly, by a new medication.
interesting to know that! what type of medication out of curiosity?
Lithium. I had swollen bleeding gums, which turned into receding gums. I reduced my dosage and my gums aren't swollen or bleeding anymore, and my gum line is slowly returning to normal..
I'd say definitely a trip to the dentist, you don't want it getting worse. I agree it could possibly be Gingivitis. In the meantime clean teeth and gums gently at least twice a day making sure you clean all teeth front and back. Perhaps a mouthwash would help as well. Good luck.
I have very sensitive gums too and notice I almost always bleed when flossing. I now get regular dental check ups and have noticed gums don't bleed anymore. My dentist said it comes down to general health and oral hygiene, which I thought I was pretty good at. Brush twice a day and floss mouthwash regularly. Agree with other BH members, get to a dentist when possible :)
Bleeding gums are not good, could be a sign of gingervitus, or gum disease, or could be that you are brushing too hard, go to a dentist
