I love movies and would love some good ones to watch. I like anything really! Also as a little side note, is Netflix any good? I want to have access to it but I'm unsure if it's worth it or if it's expensive...
I'm a huge horror fan so I highly recommend it :-D remember.... what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!!!
I love the insidious trilogy. Ah, amazing! Especially the third one.
The conjuring (from the creators of insidious).
The grudge (scares the crap out of me as a kid!).
Sinister (soooo good!! Really original and well executed).
Wrong turn series.
The cabin in the woods.
Wolf creek 2.
All great choices.
Oh god, I'm so bad with horror films but do want to watch some so thanks for that! I'll have to check some out so that if I ever get caught out at movie nights (which I always do...) I won't be so terrified...
You can do it, hannahmay! I saw Insidious 3 at the movies and 30 minutes into it a guy sitting a couple of rows in front of us walked out! He says "f#ck this sh#t, see yous!" and leaves! Hahaha. It was actually quite scary, I'll admit.
One of my old time favourites is Roman Holiday. A true classic that will never be old. And I have just watched a movie called Flipped and fell completely in love with it. The most poignant and heartfelt film. Highly recommended :)
I haven't seen those but you speak highly of them so I'll have to check them out!
I'd recommend Roman Holiday too, anything with Audrey Hepburn is beautiful for that matter actually!
I have both Netflix and Stan in my house and we dont watch regular TV anymore, netflix is great especially the suggestions section. It suggests other movies based on what you have been watching. Stan updates more regularly and has more Australian films and TV shows as well as more stuff from the 80's and 90's. Well worth a try for both. Both do a free 30 day trial.
As for movie suggestions I'm obsessed with wedding movies at the moment. I love my big fat greek wedding and sweet home alabama
I do want to get Netflix, I think it would be good especially since I buy a lot of TV series on DVD. Thank you for letting me know it's worthwhile!
the fault in our stars, the devil wears prada, what to expect when ur expecting, the maze runner, divergent, hunger games. I love the step up films. also baby mama
I love all those films and reading this made me want to re-watch them! Thanks!
The Fifth Element, Independence Day, Forest Gump, and Armagedon are a few that I could rewatch every time they are on the telly. I also have a soft spot for animated or Pixar movies sometimes, like Toy Story, Ice Age, Hotel Transylvania. There will always be a big kid in me.
As for movies released this year, I would highly recommend The Martian and The Dressmaker.
I know there are other movies I could name but my mind has gone blank!
I love animated movies and have seen all of those ones - good to know someone is just as much as a child as I am! My nanna went and saw the Dressmaker and can't wait until I see it with her, so it's good to know that it's worth watching! Thank you.
I have Netflix. I don't watch a lot of tv, but I have been catching up on X-Files when I have doing the ironing or folding washing lately. I love it because I can watch one episode, and it will stay there until I'm ready to watch the next one, without having a permanent time scheduled in each week.
I have found there's always something on Netflix that I want to watch, however Netflix in America is much better than the Australian version.
I did hear that the Australian version was no where near as good as the American one but I'm sure it will be alright! Thank you :)
I absolutely loved 'Far from the Madding Crowd' with Carey Mulligan and swoon Matthias Schoenaerts :) Other favourites are Atonement, The Notebook, Jean de Florette and Manon de Source.
Anything to swoon over! Thank you for the recommendations!
If you like the older stuff, I'd recommend Charade starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant (so much fun, and her wardrobe is to die for!); if you want to know why Batman is so dark nowadays, watch The Crow starring Brandon Lee (the first gritty superhero movie- and, in my opinion, one of the best); if you're looking for a romantic movie to re-watch for the rest of your life, buy Sense and Sensibility starring Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman (borrow it out and watch it first, but be warned- everyone I know who has seen it has ended up buying a copy!). Of the more recent films, if you like comedy, watch Spy (2015) and/or The Man From Uncle; if you don't mind some foul language, my teenaged brother loves Kingsman. Enjoy! :)
I LOVE AUDREY HEPBURN! The movies she's in are so good and the wardrobe and makeup looks are to die for! Thank you for all those suggestions!
"The Crow" is one of my all time favourites!
FIRE IT UP! FIRE IT UP! FIRE IT UP!
Hahaha I'll have to check it out!
The Martian is great. I didn't think I would like it but I did.
It's funny because so many people recommended it and I wasn't sure whether I'd like it but I'll have to check it out.
Movies are another (as well as beauty) great passion of mine so I could give you literally thousands of recommendations.. but I'll stick to just a few.
RomComs: Notting hill, the proposal, love happens, failure to launch and along came polly
Straight out romance: Are we officially dating, water for elephants (I'd grab a box of tissues for this one) and remember me
Thrillers: Safe haven and Shutter Island
Foreign films: Amelie, pan's labyrinth - I recommend watching these in their original language, with subtitles
Something a little older: Vertigo, funny face and it's a wonderful life (great to watch on christmas)
Okay, I don't know what category these would go in so I give up on that hahaha
> The tourist
> The breakfast club (classic)
> easy A
> friends with benefits
> princess diaries (childhood memories)
> the departed
Also my media teacher once suggested Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind and Synecdoche New York, which I can now tell you are both definitely worth a watch!
There are also several other forum topics in relation to films and if you search "movies" in the BH search bar you will find these with many more recommendations!
Happy watching to you x
Oh and I almost forgot my favourite: Country strong, you don't have to like country music to love this movie. It's such a beautiful and realistic storyline but a love of country music will make it so much better!
My favourite movie is definitely Pretty Woman and I watched like 100 times ( it's not a joke) since I was 10 years old ( I'm now 25 by the way). It's the kind of movie that cheer me up when I'm a bit down.
But I do love " Teen "movies such as Mean girls, John Tucker must due, She's the man etc
Some of my favourite romantic movies are The Notebook, Notting Hill, Maid in Manhattan. I'm a movie lover^^
Palmolive cashmere bouquet bar soap lavender is a soap my mum always buys and uses. She gives me bars when I visit. The smell is very nice and leaves a scent on my skin.
As a regular user of lip balms, i was very keen to see how the Minenssey Lip Spa would compare to my normal go to brand.
Over all such a great concealer for it's price. It's cheap, available in most stores you hop into and multi use for a range of makeup needs. It's not full coverage.
