In the last few months the opportunity has fallen off dramatically.
How often are you getting a chance to trial new products?
I have only recently joined so as yet haven't enough points to qualify for new product trials. Hopefully, will get a chance in the future.
I've been apart of the trial team group for 3 months ish now. I am yet to receive a single invite to join a trial. It's a bit disappointing because I love trying products and I'm really enjoying writing reviews during my free time while I am not at uni.
I've also seen others speak about it being slow with the trials though so it's not just us. We will live in hope that it's new financial year, hopefully companies will have a little more to spend on advertising and testing now. So hopefully there will be plenty of products to trial soon.
All the best.
Best of luck in accumulating points and joining the TT!
I've been on the trial team for 7 months and have gotten to try two products. I think as the BH community is growing and more people are joining the trial team, it's just being scattered out so that everyone gets an equal opportunity. Sometimes I don't accept a product if it's not suitable for me or if I already have a lot of it to go through (e.g. shampoo) to give others a chance. Just hang in there! How long have you been on the TT? :)
Already such a huge privilege for me to be on the trial team, even if there's always a slim chance I'm even going to get a free product to test out and review. You usually only see companies send out stuff to beauty influencers and not the consumers, because they have bigger voices and a bigger platform = better marketing. Times are changing drastically now and consumers are losing trust in influencers and reading/relying on other regular folks' honest reviews before purchasing a product. I know I do that.
I completely agree with your point makeupcat. I would much rather read a review from an everyday consumer rather then someone who is getting paid to advertise a product. You can tell the difference between genuine reviews these days.
Also agree that being on the trial team is a privilege and just to be thankful even if it means you don't trial often. All your points were really well said.
I've been a BH member sine 2010 and joined the TT in 2015.
I've had 4 or 5 invites this year, I declined a few as they weren't suitable or products I wouldn't use. I'm happy with the rate I get invites, it's up to me to accept or not.
When I first joined I didn't have any trials for the first year, I contacted Tina then it all changed. If you haven't had an invite in 3 months or so contact Tina.
It's been nearly 6 months since I had a product to try. and I contacted Tina on several occasions, but the only offer I got was a tanning product, which I refused, as I have olive skin and have absolutely no use for a tanning product.
I have done a few, haven't had any lately.
I have been a member since 2014 and have been very fortunate to trial products that has been suitable for me especially at a time when I needed it the most. What I think will make it easier for BH to pick a suitable candidate and for others to see your experiences is put some effort on your profiles . Eg Sometimes I may want to find a person who has sensitive dry skin like myself yet they either have nothing or vague descriptions . That might make you a disadvantage to be picked because no-one knows what skintype you are , what cosmetics suits you and any products that you need to help solve a problem etc etc. Take a look at mine and I thank BH for the time and effort in choosing the right products for me to test. So just go and take a look at your profiles and see if you can add more details to make yourself more specific about your skin/body .
Big Thank You and hope it didn't sound too much like a lecture .
Thanks Harmony Queen for your tips. I've never been invited to be part of a trial team and often wondered how the invites came about. I'll certainly be updating my profile and hopefully I just might get an invite one day.
If you have never been apart of it, please be aware that you need to express your interest in being part of the trial team, just being a member of BH does not automatically mean that you will one day be invited.
Please read the following article and apply if you haven't already:
Hope this helps and Good luck!
Thanks for your help. I'll follow up because I'd love to be on the trial team.
Your profile is excellent Onlyoni . Good luck with your new retirement :)
Thanks so much for the great tips!
After an absolute drought for months, I've just received a product to test!
I've been on the TT since 2016 and have gotten one invite/one trial (so was accepted on the one I was invited for) back in February.
I think that it plays a part by your profile + other factors who has done what ect.
I'm hopeful I'll get asked again shortly.
I'd recommend to look at your profile to see if you need to update anything and give Tina a gentle nudge if it's been longer than 3 months.
Good luck xx
Thanks so much.
Hopefully, we'll probably have better luck in the new financial year!
I joined the trial team back in 2011. Back in my first two years I probably got a trial once every 4 months.
2013 I do remember as being the most active year for trials for me (I remember the year because of other things that was happening in my life at that time and I had multiple trials occurring at the same time and as soon as I submitted them another few came in).
After that my activity on this site reduced a lot and the invites decreased dramatically too. In fact I might not have gotten any in 2014 maybe I got one invite max for the year.
I notice the more active I am with my personal reviews the more likely that I will be considered for a trial with my average trail rate at the moment being one every two maybe closer to three months. There are so many lovelies who are active on this site (those we see in the forums and those we don’t) who are also part of the trial teams, so I am not surprised to only get one every two-three months. It is a pleasure each time I get the tt invite and though I would enjoy doing more I don’t mind either.
Good luck with the trial team.
Oh yeah and I also agree with keeping your profile up to date and complete, the more they know about you the better they can match you to a product.
I joined the trial team a few months ago and was invited for two shampoo trials, one of which I accepted. I think members are selected randomly and based on their profile and the size of their projects. There have been some recent trials where I feel I could be a good fit but LUCK plays a large role too!!
Our trial team database is growing everyday which is exciting for us, however this does mean that there are more people in the trial pool so you may not be invited onto trials as often as you may have used to.
In saying this, as other beauties have mentioned, please make sure your profile is complete (both beauty and non beauty) and keep this updated. Also getting your reviews/surveys in promptly helps as well.
End of financial year was a bit quieter in relation to trial teams, however we do have some exciting ones coming soon- so please keep a look out!
I have been on 5 trial teams since october last year. Definitely a lot less lately. I think a lot also depends on your profile and products matchint your demographic. Ie the company say I want this product trialled on a particular age group or particular skin type etc.
As Elunia mentioned you do need to submit the form to be considered and the trials are further apart then they used to be due to the large number of members. I've been a member for almost 2 years and this year has been quite slow compared to last year. But definitely complete the form and make sure your profile is up to date as well.
Good luck to everyone. Hope your all get tons of great products to trial in the new financial year!
I received a single sachet of Summer’s Eve Daily Freshness Intimate Cleansing Wipe with my Rewards Room 2020 delivery.
