Friday how-to: super sleek strands
We’ve brought you some of the best up dos from the Oscars, so now it’s time to get a handle on the super-sleek red carpet styles.
Sandra Bullock certainly rocked the look – in fact, if there were an award on the night for the smoothest strands, we bet yet another gong would’ve gone to her!
Here, top Sydney stylist, Dario Cotroneo shows us how to recreate her winning style:
1.) Start by creating a low side parting in your hair and blow-dry your locks completely straight. (Try: Redken 5th Avenue NYC - Style Portfolio Iron Silk 07 for simultaneous heat protection and minimal flyaways).
2.) Once dry, place your hair into a side ponytail just below your jaw line and, once secure, spritz some hairspray (try: Goldwell Lacquer Regular Hold Lacquer) onto a make-up brush and lightly ‘paint’ it over the top of your head to smooth any stray strands.
3.) Spray some KMS California Curlup Bounce Back Spray onto the mid-lengths and ends of your ponytailed hair, before rolling the ends around one MYCURL roller.
4.) Clamp a straightening iron directly over the MYCURL for 10 seconds, then release and allow your curl to cool for five minutes.
5.) After your hair has cooled, remove the MYCURL, undo your ponytail, and brush your hair very lightly.
6.) To finish, apply KMS California Silksheen Gloss Spray to your ends, swish your mane hair over one shoulder and secure with hairspray.
If there was an Oscar for ‘Best Hair’ who do you think would win?
