Get the look: 2010 Oscars beauty - page 2
The Oscars is first and foremost about celebrating the top-notch talent in the film industry – but come time for the red carpet, our favourite A-listers are judged on so much more than their performances on screen…
The glamorous gowns are often the stars of the show, but here at beautyheaven it’s the hair and make-up looks that make us ooh and ahh with wide eyes. We’re here to help you steal the looks of your favourite stars, so you can add them to your very own repertoire this season.
High and stylish: Nicole Richie
“Nicole Richie is always on trend and looks great with this high bun.” says top Sydney stylist and owner and director of Oscar Oscar Salons, Oscar Cullinan. “It’s quick to achieve and keeps the attention on your dress, rather than your hair, which is perfect for an event like the Oscars!” Here’s his easy-peasy how-to:”¨ To start, comb a styling gel through your hair to minimise flyaways and make it easier to manage (try: Garnier Fructis Style Fibre Gum Jelly). Next, tip your heap upside down and comb your locks into a really smooth high ponytail, securing it with a snag-free hair elastic. Comb some more styling gel through your ends before twisting your ponytail very tightly onto itself so that it creates a rope effect. Once your hair is twisted, wind it around your hair elastic and fasten it in place with bobby pins. Finish with a spritz of shine spray (try: Aveda Brilliant Spray-On Shine).
