Beauty tips to take from Kim Kardashian
I realise that this headline is somewhat of an oxymoron, beauties. Beauty tips? From Kim Kardashian? The (former?!) darling of reality TV? Yes, that Kim K. But stick with me, please…
News broke this week that Kim and her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe, are releasing their own make-up line, Khroma Beauty. Surprising? Not so much. They do dip their perfectly manicured toes in LOTS of money-making ponds. (And they’re certainly no strangers to make-up either!)
This announcement got me thinking, though – do these heavily made-up ladies actually know anything about beauty? Yes, yes they do. Especially Kim. And to prove I’m not utterly bonkers, here are some beauty tips and tricks to steal from a woman in the know…
KARDASHIAN BEAUTY LESSON #1: always pay attention to your brows
Kim and her sisters have immaculate brows. Outstanding brows! And because of said sensational brows, their faces always look well-groomed and ‘done’ even if they haven’t applied too much slap. Give yours the attention they deserve, which includes visiting a professional for a shaping session, and you’ll notice an amazing difference in how your entire face looks.
KARDASHIAN BEAUTY LESSON #2: don’t be afraid to play with make-up
See that gold eye shadow underneath Kim’s lower lashes? Not exactly textbook make-up, is it? But that’s what makes it so grand. It opens her eyes and makes them standout, but is completely different to her signature charcoal smoky eye. You can play around with this look too – be it with purple, green or blue eyeliner – if you’re after an extra bold finish.
KARDASHIAN BEAUTY LESSON #3: apply bronzer where the sun naturally hits
Kim’s face is sun-kissed, but take a closer look at the concentration of colour – it’s around the outer edges of her face and on the tip of her nose. Apply your favourite bronzer in the same areas for a natural, healthy finish.
KARDASHIAN BEAUTY LESSON #4: the ponytail will always be a classic
I’m a huge fan of the ponytail – it’s chic, classy and easy to create. Kim looks utterly stylish with her high neckline and sleek ponytail, and is doing a good job of changing this hairstyle from a ‘gym only’ ‘do to an elegant Saturday night option.
