Anthelios Invisible Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF50+ Reviews

I generally favour Australian made products when I can, but this French made sunblock is a cult favourite for good reason. The flat bottle looks different, but it's highly functional. The sunscreen is a milky consistency, easy to pour out, but the tiny nozzle means it won't spill everywhere if you drop it.

I'm fair with a moley complexion & there is a LOT of skin cancer on both sides of my family, both melanomas & carcinomas. My father & his brothers look like they've been in knife fights from all the scars on their faces & bodies from where they've had cancers cut or burnt out. I've been religiously sun-safe since my mid-twenties, but I saw a lot of sun in my childhood & teens. I wear sunscreen on my face & chest every time I leave the house during daylight hours now, year round!

I've tried a lot of sunscreens throughout my life & many of them are so uncomfortable that I hate wearing them. My blemish-prone skin flares up with a lot of sunscreens too. I've been wearing this sunscreen for many months now & I haven't had a problem with pimples. Like all sunscreens, it takes a little while to sink in, but I leave it a few minutes before applying my makeup & it goes on smoothly & evenly. I haven't had a heavy or greasy feel to my skin & it doesn't make me sweat excessively (some heavy feeling products make my skin sweat a lot).

Made in France. PAO 12M (Open jar symbol shows Period After Opening that product should last, shown in months M). I got this in February 2016 & the expiry is 07/17, which is pretty good.

Also contains: Phenoxyethanol & Ethanol.

I've tried SO MANY brands and products of sunscreen including Priceline's sunscreen [the white one with a pink top], Sunsense, Aldi's sunscreen [both light blue and dark blue], some Banana Boat sunscreens and a few in the last few years.

This sunscreen is a game changer.

It is smooth and a little runny. It's white in colour, but goes on clear AND dry. There is no sign of sunscreen being applied on the face. You don't see greasiness/oiliness, skin doesn't FEEL oily, in fact, it feels smooth and soft. It doesn't feel thick and heavy on the skin, very light and you really only need a small amount to cover your face and neck. THIS PRODUCT DRIES ON MATTE! SKIN ISN'T LEFT OILY!

The smell isn't as strong as other sunscreens. The product is small and can therefore be taken almost anywhere. Even in your pocket.

Blast them UVA/UVB rays… I have protection!

Application advice:

Shake well before use. Apply liberally / generously to all exposed areas of clean dry skin, 15 to 20 minutes before exposure. Reapply again after exercise, swimming or towelling.

Initial thoughts on viewing the product:

Great box if you’re bilingual. I like the colourations used on the packaging, however the small print and the two languages makes it confusing, particularly when some of the instructions are provided using words and some of them are provided as pictures (not even on the box but under the lid of the box when you’re trying to access the unusually shaped bottle).

With a bottle that looks like a miniaturised walkie talkie, perhaps we could ask someone how to make this 50ml of sunscreen come out right first time, every time! Who knows! For me, it’s a comedy of communication errors about to take place.

If you were like me and didn’t shake the bottle, a light brownish oil comes out first. That’s when I decided I had to shake the darn thing first. So, after a few minutes of vigorous shaking, I then had what resembled a thin layer of product that applied like a dream.

This is an amazing sunscreen for people with sensitive skin. It is non greasy, ultra light like the name suggests and does not irritate my prone to redness skin! The sunscreen can be worn by itself or under makeup. When first applied it looks like there is a white cast, but you have to wait until your skin has fully absorbed the product and the white cast will be gone! It glides onto the face very smoothly, does not clog pores, quite moisturising and doesn't make the face look oily as it has a matte finish.

I would recommend this product for people with combination and sensitive skin. This is a wonderful way to product your skin from premature ageing with a SPF 50+ ! I definitely will be repurchasing this amazing product !!

Being fair skinned and living in North Queensland, how crazy…right! Luckily, I have a secret weapon…Anthelios XL and this sunscreen is brilliant. Having a young family whom simply love the outdoors requires super dooper sun protection at all times. I haven’t tried the other versions of this sunscreen yet but I love this light fluid that goes onto the skin so smoothly with an invisible finish that is not greasy, is beaut for oilier skin, sensitive skin and great for teens. I have a dry/sensitive skin and my skin is loving it as I recently had IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) performed on my face for pigmentation and this is my saviour protecting my skin while I heal and for every day thereon for prevention. The scent is not an issue being very light at that and I love that you don’t feel like you are wearing sunscreen at all – superb for under foundation etc. The bottle may not be big but for how brilliant the product works it’s truly worth it…no nasties, the highest UVA and UVB protection in Australia with broad spectrum SPF 50+ , protects against premature ageing…it’s all about protecting our precious skin so we have it for a lot longer.

Have you tried La Roche Posay- Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF 50+. It's a bit pricey but provides excellent sun protection, is non-greasy, great under makeup and is ideal for super sensitive skin.
Only downside is a slight whitish colour it gives to skin, but just don't apply too much and its fine.

I cannot recommend LRP Anthelios XL Fluid enough. Firstly, it protects from both UVA and UVB rays which I love because it means I am being protected from both premature aging AND sunburn. Secondly, the fluid dries so beautifully - it does not leave a white cast and does not flash white in photos plus it dries to a matte finish. Because it dries matte I can easily put it on under a full face of makeup and know I am protected. Or if I'm going makeup free I can wear it just with my mousturiser. My skin changes from extremely dry to very oily with the seasons and the Anthelios Fluid works well with either type to balance me out.
