Being excited to have been invited to trial this product is an understatement. This same brand did wonders for my facial acne at one point. My first opportunity to use this product arose from having a long weekend away in Melbourne. On the Saturday morning while away the sun beckoned, and therefore I applied this product to the face and neck after cleansing and toning. This was the same day where I was walking around a lot; and despite being a rather windy day, the sun exposure was somewhat strong. I recall applying this product to my face and neck about three more times throughout this same day. This kept the sunburns away, and my face did not feel sticky or greasy at all. Neither did my neck. Hurrah.

I also love the portability of this sunscreen too. Although a tad runny, care needs to be taken when squirting to the unused hand prior to application - otherwise you'll use too much. About two pea sized amounts per application worked wonders in 27 degree heat and wind with strong sun exposure.
Back to the portability side of things. The size is just right. This product is able to fit into any pocket as opposed to many other sunscreens that come in larger tubes and packaging.

Due to high levels of stress in my work as of late, the acne has just returned, and this sunscreen does not aggravate acne either. Definitely suitable for sensitive skin.

Although greater benefits were gained while out in the sun, this product is just as suitable as a daily moisturiser - especially in the warmer seasons to protect your facial area from UV exposure; even if you plan on being indoors for most of the day. Thank you so much.

Thank you to La Roche Posay and Beautyheaven for giving me the opportunity to trial this amazing sun cream. I should start by saying I really dislike wearing suncreen. I find them thick and heavy and they either leave me looking like an oil slick or break me out. Oily senitive skin and sunscreen just don't seem to mix for me. However, having turned 30 I am starting to become concerned about UVA rays and the ageing caused by sun exposure. I know I need to find a sunscreen I like and I think I may have found it!

I love La Roche Posay and use a lot of their products, yet I have never tried their suncreens. Like all La Roche Posay products this sunscreen is suitable for sensitive beauties and didn't react with my picky skin at all. The bottle is small and slimline and you just give it a quick shake before use. The small size makes it easy to just pop in my handbag when I go out. The product itself is a thin milky consistency and spread really easily over my skin. It absorbed well and did not leave a white cast. I really appreciate the fact it protects against both UVA and UVB rays so no burning and no wrinkles woo hoo! After a full day or wear my skin was still matte and after a full week of daily wear it did not break me out. My search is over, this sunscreen is definitely the one for for me!

What a great sunscreen this is! I use it daily after my morning skin routine. I find it goes on smoothly and absorbs into the skin really well. Once absorbed it literally fees like nothing has been applied! It provides a great silky smooth base for applying make-up, which actually looks better when worn over this sunscreen.

I have very sensitive and somewhat dry skin as well, and I did not have ANY reaction whatsoever to this sun screen, which is saying something! I really can not emphasise enough how great this sunscreen is for sensitive skin.

I found myself applying this to face, neck and decolletage as a way to be sure I am getting great sun protection in those key areas.

The bottle and packaging are super cute, and the spout is really useful. I found it easy to get just the right amount, reducing wastage and saving me dollars in the long run.

The product is fragrance free, and as such has a slight chemical smell. Not bothersome at all, and it disappears really quickly. Given my sensitive skin I really appreciate the fact that this sun screen is fragrance free.

All in all a great addition to your daily skin routine. Especially if you are sun conscious and have sensitive skin.

I love that I have found a sunscreen with high protection factor that actually HELPS my make-up look better for longer.

This comes in a cute bottle with the lid/opening on one corner of it. I have been using this in the morning after my skincare routine (wash, tone, serum, moisturise). You need to shake the bottle first otherwise it's really really runny. It was easy to apply and felt lightweight. I don't think it took long to absorb but I have a one hour drive to work everyday and it definitely was absorbed by the time I got there! I have sensitive skin and this did not irritate me. I can't wait for it to be warmer here in Melbourne so I can test this out to see if it gets oily during the day or not.

I don't usually apply sunscreen (I know I should!) because I don't like the texture but this is not like a sunscreen at all, just feels like a lightweight lotion.

I can't find the price for it but I would repurchase if it is less than $20. I have a feeling it's not though! The design of the bottle reminds me of sunscreen for your body, it's very cute.

Product comes in a very cute and handy 50ml bottle which is small enough to be easily kept in even a small handbag, a glove box in the car, a travel bag etc. It has a very runny milky consistency which makes spreading it onto the skin very easy. It is pale yellowish in colour and the claims of fragrance free seems a little redundant because it has a strong alcohol scent (3 rd ingredient is denatured alcohol, which I'm not too keen on).

I will start by saying I am a big user of physical sunscreens (ones with physical blocking ingredients like zinc and titanium dioxide) because I am super sun-sensitive and have a very quick burn time. This sunscreen is a purely chemical based sunscreen and for people who burn and then freckle chemical sunscreens aren't ideal for preventing pigmentation issues.

I have used this on bright sunny days and I could feel my skin getting hot and flushed after around one hour, not ideal when you have a full face of makeup and unable to reapply. Physical sunscreens last much longer for me and I never get that hot, flushed feeling when I use them.

However, this product has some merits. It is a very nice formula on the skin, it is completely compatible with skincare layers and with makeup. It is not drying at all, in fact it is quite hydrating and leaves my skin feeling very silky. It isn't oily either, there is no oily sheen and it doesn't cause makeup to slip or slide.

I really like this formula for the cooler months or days when the UV rating is at it's lower end because I find it doesn't adequately protect my very pale skin during the brighter sunny days.

What a great product to trial! I mostly loved that the product is produced for sensitive skin, I have struggled at times to find a great 50 plus that doesn’t give me a rash or oily skin after usage - so this has been the perfect product for my skin type as i had amazing results.

Like most SPF’S this product actually doesn't leave an oily feel behind, my skin felt soft, as well as hydrated - I have been using the product everyday and my skins feels and looks great!

I really like the product It blends very well and can be worn all over the face, this is very important for me, as one of the main benefits of this product is that it's SPF 50+, so I want to use it all over my face on my morning walks and also to work! It also helped achieve a subtle, glowy base for everyday thanks to it's hydration hit.

I also had no breakouts, rashes or redness while using the product.

I was pleasantly surprised at how light and easy the LA ROCHE-POSAY ANTHELIOS XL ULTRA LIGHT SPF50+ applied to my skin. I find most sunscreens are quite thick and gluggy and leave an oily film on your skin.
Also being 50+ is fantastic for the Australian sun. Although I feel the application ever 2 hours would be a bit tedious, especially if you have a full face of make-up on.
The smell is quite chemical based, but once rubbed in the smell seems to dissolve.
When i first received my parcel upon opening I though the packaging was very medical looking, I actually thought it was some vitamins. I think this type of packaging suits professional only salons or injectable clinics.
Also, when i first received the package I couldn't figure out if the product was a moisturiser with a built in SPF or whether it was purely a suncreen. After having a good read over the packaging and the product inside I am still a little confused as neither words are mentioned.
Also, I am not sure if it is waterproof so many not be suitable to wear whilst swimming.
Overall, I think this is a fantastic product, that i will love using everyday in summer.

First of all, thank you BeautyHeaven for letting me test this sunscreen out. I must say I am a huge fan of La Roche Posay and I use quite many products from their range. I am 100% sure I have used this sunscreen or a very similar one a long time ago, when La Roche Posay was not available in Australia and I was asking my mum to send me their products. I remember I was not a fan so I believe there was some reformulation going on as now I like this sunscreen very very much.

I do trust La Roche Posay and I know I am getting the best sun protection I can when I use their products. But sometimes it comes down to the formula of the product, and this one really agrees with my skin.

The packaging is pretty simple, we receive 50 ml of product in a very handy, light plastic bottle. We are told to shake it well before we use the sunscreen.
The product we get is a rather runny white lotion that has no perfume added but with that said has a kind of chemical scent to it, some might find it irritating but to me it did not matter. The lotion doesn't feel greasy at all, it applies beautifully and absorbs quickly into the skin. After a while it sets and leaves the skin soft and smooth. There is no nasty sticky film, no white mask ( as with some sunscreens), the skin looks healthy and protected. I find no problem using this product underneath make up, it doesn't ball up, it works well with my make up primers and foundations.
I believe the formula is amazing for those with combination and oily skin as it is lightweight, and doesn't seem to clog the pores. The finish is satin, but after a few hours the face might start to shine a little. Personally, I do not find it problematic.

The only negative I can think of is the bitter taste I get in my mouth when I use this product. I also have it when I use Effaclar Duo + SPF 30 ( yay, something new from Europe) and I believe this must be one of the active ingredient that tastes so bitter. However, I got used to it now.

I was really pleased to be included in the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF+ trial. As someone who has suffered from melasma pigmentation for years, a high SPF sunscreen product is always part of my daily skin care routine. I’m also a bit embarrassed to admit that I have never tried any of the La Roche-Posay skincare line, so obviously I jumped at the opportunity to do so.

The product packaging is rather unique in that it is a rectangular and rather flat bottle (a little like the shape of a small mobile phone) and has a small nozzle on one corner. The directions for used are to shake the product vigorously before use. I found that I needed to take care unscrewing the cap as a lot of the light lotion tended to come rushing out of the nozzle after all that shaking. The fact that the amount of product issued from the nozzle was a little difficult to regulate was really the only slight downside I experienced.

The lotion itself is of quite a runny consistency, a lot like a serum. In comparison to a regular lotion or cream I suppose it was a little harder to judge how much to use, but I felt I had good coverage with about a 5c piece sized amount. I used the lotion after using a regular daytime moisturiser without sunscreen and felt that was perfect for me. I think the product could also be used without other moisturiser for those with oily skin as its ingredients in themselves do offer a good amount of moisturization.

I really loved wearing Anthelios Ultra Light under make-up as it created a smooth base, which was just as effective as a make-up primer.

In addition to all its obvious benefits, I did not detect any fragrance in the product and did not experience any skin or eye irritation, which is so important to me. Even for that reason alone I would highly recommend La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light to anyone, male or female who is looking for a great facial sunscreen.
