Anthelios Invisible Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF50+ Reviews

During summer I go through sunscreen pretty quickly and I'm always on the hunt for an easy to apply sunscreen that doesn't feel greasy or sticky that gives long lasting protection. The La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50+ is a pretty good sunscreen in regards to these points.

The sunscreen comes in a small rectangular bottle with a small nozzle at the top. It's easy to squeeze the desired amount out of the bottle but just be aware that when shaking the bottle it can get a bit explosive on opening. The size of the bottle means it's easy to throw in a handbag or take away on holidays.

The sunscreen formula is very different to most as it has a much lighter creamier consistency which makes it perfect for using on the face under makeup or just on it's own. I found the sunscreen rubbed in pretty quickly on application to the face although it still left a bit of a sticky feeling that gradually went away as it soaked in. It didn't change the look of my skin at all and didn't make it look oily at all. The smell of the sunscreen is fairly light with just a slight typical sunscreen aroma .

I find that I would use this product more on days when I will be outside more as it doesn't feel as hydrating on my skin as my daily moisturiser with SPF+. And the price is a little high for the size of the bottle.

Overall this a great option for someone who wants a lighter feeling sunscreen for their face that will keep them protected all day long.

As someone with oily and sensitive skin, finding a sunscreen that agrees with me can be something of a nightmare. Add to that my pale complexion that needs sunscreen, and I find that I too often look like an oily mess, or red-faced from some ingredient not agreeing, or both. I was excited at the prospect of La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios XL. It’s advertised as ultra-light, and for sensitive skin. Add to that 50+, and I was so hopeful that maybe this could be the one for me. I have had good experiences with other La Roche-Posay products, but have never used any of their sunscreens before.
I was immediately stuck on the size of the bottle. It’s 50ml for $28.95m which seems expensive for something I want to use every day, sometimes multiple times a day, if I’m in the sun.
The instructions say to shake the bottle before dispensing to mix the formula, and the product comes out as a thick white liquid. It definitely isn’t a cream. I like that it doesn’t really smell like a sunscreen, and it also has no added fragrance. The smell does hang around for a while, but it isn’t unpleasant or that noticeable.
The liquid does absorb into my skin quite quickly, which is nice as it means I don’t have to hang around waiting before I can apply makeup. The best part is it doesn’t leave my face with an oily slick, or any redness. The first application left me wondering if this was too good to be true. Would I later find myself reacting to it? Thankfully I did not, and with continued use I’m happy to report no adverse effects at all. As it has gotten warmer I’ve still had to contend with an oily face later in the day, but I’m used to that with any product I use. It’s not excessive at least, just my normal oily face.
I also found that it is a nice base for makeup. I use slightly less primer than previously when I use this sunscreen.
Overall I’m quite happy with the Anthelios XL sunscreen, but I’m wondering how long the small bottle will last me. That will be the deciding factor in purchasing it for me.

What a fantastic product to trial for the Beauty Heaven Trial Team! I am always one to be looking for a face sunscreen that I can wear daily without feeling sticky or having to constantly reapply as I have skin that is very prone to skin cancers/spots.

The bottle is super small so I was a bit worried that there wouldn't be much product to use however you barely need any! The product itself is super runny so by tipping the bottle upside down it comes out straight away, I would definitely recommend not squeezing the bottle or you will have wayyy too much. I have been using about a 5 cent piece worth, not even and it has been covering my whole face. It spreads really easily as well and feel very light on your face. You could easily put powder over the top, however I would recommend letting your face dry first.

I love that the bottle is super small because you can chuck it in yur handbag/purse. I was in the sun all day and didn't have to reapply at all! No sunburn or colouring.

The smell is a bit off putting it kind of smells like nail polish but once its on your face and dries, this goes away.

Would definitely recommend this product but make sure you don't squeeze it!!!

I was lucky enough to have been chosen to trial the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL ultra-light SPF50+ sunscreen for beautyheaven.

The product comes packaged in a small rectangular white and orange box with braille down the left hand spine, which is an advantage for people who are vision impaired. Inside the box the product itself is a slender rectangular white bottle, with a sleek cylindrical white lid on the left hand side which you unscrew to apply the fluid, making it more secure that the lid won’t accidentally pop off to make a mess in your handbag.

After rigorously shaking the bottle to mix up the formula for an even distribution, I would apply this sunscreen every morning as the last step to my skin care routine, before applying my makeup. I would let the lotion set first, and it made a great base to apply my make up to. The bottle is only 50ml so it is small in size, but since the lotion is a rather thin consistency, it means only a very small amount is needed and it goes a long way. The product is unperfumed, and it absorbs quickly and evenly into my skin leaving it feeling smooth and light with no white residue. Because my skin is sensitive, I was very happy that it didn’t cause any redness or irritation, so it worked with my skin instead of against it. My skin tends to be combination with an oily t zone, so I was pleased at how ultra-light the formula was and didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or looking oily or shiny. The lotion gives 50+ protection against the sun, so it offers very high protection against the damaging and aging effects of uva and uvb rays of the sun.

I was very pleased with this product and will continue using it.

This has become my favourite sunscreen. I love that it is high SPF, but has an incredibly light consistency, isn't greasy and doesn't leave a white cast. I have been using it every morning under makeup and it doesn't interfere with the application of my foundation or the finish.

I use a lot of anti-ageing skincare with various active ingredients so a good sunscreen everyday is non-negotiable for me, regardless of what the weather looks like. This product is very runny so you need to shake up the bottle and be careful when you squeeze product out as I found that it has a tendency to squirt out quite a bit.

The texture is very light, non-greasy, so easy to blend and doesn't leave a weird film on your face or leave a white cast. I think this formula would work well for all skin types - I have very dry skin so don't like my sunscreen to be too greasy as my skincare is quite heavy already. It is not a matte finish but as it isn't shiny I think it would work well for combo-oily skin types too. It's great to use on the neck, shoulders and decolletage also.

The broad spectrum sun cream comes in a rectangular 50ml white and orange plastic squirt container - so perfect to throw in your handbag for reapplication. The fluid is very lightweight and runny so application is a breeze. It does not leave a white mask, it absorbs quickly and has a slight chemical suncream smell that slowly disappears. I was able to apply my BB cream straight over the top after a few minutes and it did not "pill" and applied smoothly over the top of the sun cream.

I have sensitive skin and stupidly forgot to do a patch test before plastering the product over my face but fortunately the sun cream did not cause any reaction or sensitivity - in fact I forgot I was wearing it as it is so lightweight on my skin!

Overall I have been impressed with this product and will continue to use it.

I hadn’t heard of La Roche-Posay ANTHELIOS XL ULTRA LIGHT SUNSCREEN SPF50+ before this trail so I was really happy to try something new. This French sunscreen is packaged in a small white box with orange, yellow and black writing. It contains fluid white, 50+ sunscreen in 50ml screw top bottle with a small nozzle. It sounds like it has a small metal ball inside to help mix the fluid (like you would find in a nail polish bottle), so it mixes quickly. It provides protection from UVA and UVB damage.

This sunscreen is easy to apply and absorb quickly into my skin. I use it every morning before I apply my makeup and I didn’t feel the need to prime or use moisturiser afterwards. I hate thick, sticky sunscreen so I was really pleased that the consistency is very light and it didn’t leave my skin feeling suffocated like most sunscreens do.

I have had reactions to sunscreens before and I was really pleased that this one contained no perfume but it did have a glue or slight chemical smell but it didn’t bother me. It works really well under my make up. No balling, no oil slick, no over powering scent and most importantly no watery eyes! Being so small it is a great size for my bag. I have had no congestion and no rashes so it is a winner for me!

As a teenager with acne scars, sunscreen was recommended to me by a million beauty articles and I've never really turned back. So with all my years of sunscreen experience, I've never found one that did it all -- until today!

The La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50+ sunscreen exceeded my expectations in all manners. The product is actually quite runny when you squeeze it out of the tube, but once you start applying it to your face, it has the same thick sunscreen texture. For my whole face, I used an amount similar to the size of my pinky fingernail. When I saw the size of the tube, I thought the price point was quite high for the product ($28.99 for 50ml). Do not be dissuaded by this! It will easily last you a good 6 months.

The product itself absorbs quickly into skin and provides excellent protection against the daily sun. My skin tans very easily, so if I'm in the sun for too long, it's very obvious. With this product, I didn't have any issues with skin tone and that's a win given how much sunshine has been happening in Qld the past two weeks!

Lastly, the great thing about this product is the fact I didn't have any reactions to the product. Sunscreens can be quite tricky with sensitive skin, but I didn't break out nor did my skin dry out or become oily. In my opinion, the Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50+ is worth every cent.

I did a little research before I accepted the trial to see how safe the product is since I'm pregnant. I read mixed reviews abt how good the product is,but decided to trial it.

The bottle is unique,almost in a shape of fat 'L'. You need to shake it to mix up the sunblock before pouring it out. A little goes a long way.

It's texture is thin, spreadable and light. When I apply it, yes you know you're wearing a coverage but it doesn't leave a film and also white marks like other sun blocks do.

I also like the finish, I look pretty flawless and blemishes covered after I spread it all over my face.

I'm very impressed with the product and will continue to use it. Best of all, it doesn't clog Mt pores and I don't get more pimples and breakouts from it.
