What your disturbed sleep really means
Do you find yourself waking up at certain times during the night for no apparent reason? Are you sick of your sleep being constantly disrupted? Do you want to know what it means?
Then this is definitely the article for you.
You see, what’s interesting about your late night awakenings is there's a reason for them. They’re not just a random occurrence because your brain is on overdrive – they’re actually linked to something going on inside you – and they’re also an indication that your body is trying to tell you something is not quite right within your body.
DID YOU KNOW?
Our bodies run on a clock-like cycle, which means that when things are running as they should, you shouldn’t notice any major issues indicators or disturbances to your sleep or otherwise. It’s because each organ has an energy system that runs through us and each energy system has a ‘peak time’, and when things are not running as they should the energy system is compromised and blockages appear. For e.g. The peak time of your stomach’s energy system is between7am-9am, this is why we often feel as though the first meal of the day should be eaten between these hours.
SO HOW DO WE LINK THE TIME OF THE BLOCKAGE TO THE ISSUE?
If you’re waking up at the same time every night, it’s almost certainly linked to an interruption to the energy flow in a particular organ at that time. Want to know which time periods correspond with different organs and energy systems?
11pm-1am: Gall bladder
5-7am: Large intestine
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO ONCE YOU’VE MADE THE LINK?
If you have realised that you’re consistently waking up at around the same time every night, it’s important to make note of that time and try to address the organ experiencing the energy blockages. For example if you note that you’re waking at around 3am each morning, it’s an indication that something isn’t quite right with your liver. As these hours are the peak time for your liver’s energy system, any blockages or issues that occur while your liver is trying to cleanse your blood and regulate your enzymes is an indication that something isn’t quite right with your liver and should be explored further.
