The new excuse to have a sleep-in

If you’re anything like me, it probably takes you a little while to get going in the morning. It doesn’t matter whether you get to sleep at 9pm or midnight, you’re always just that teeny bit sluggish in the AM.
The good news is, you shouldn’t feel too guilty. A new study investigating workplace efficiency in the UK has shown you may be tired because your body clock simply doesn’t agree with your working hours.
According to the research, we all have slightly different body clocks, with some of us suiting early starts more than others (which explains that chipper-in-the-morning friend who plagues you daily).
So, what do the biologists behind the study recommend? Well, they actually reckon our bosses should let us sleep in just a little if it suits us better. Apparently, allowing employees to adjust their work patterns to work with their need for zzz’s can result in a healthier, happier workplace!
As if that wasn’t enough incentive, not sleeping in as needed could actually result in what experts call ‘social jetlag’ – a condition that’s linked to diabetes, obesity and even cancer.
Personally, I am more than happy to get on board with this recommendation (*cue nervous wait for boss to read article).
Time will tell whether it actually gets implemented – until then, boost your energy levels by learning about the 6 signs you’re not sleeping properly.
Do you struggle to get going in the morning? Would you support a daily sleep-in?

I'm a morning person and have trouble sleeping in even when I'm tired.

It sure sounds nice doesn't it? But I wonder how any real work would get done with people coming in at whatever time suited them best? No team work!
