Surprising reasons you're tired

Many of us struggle to wake up in the morning, but once we’ve adjusted to the daylight and had a coffee, we don’t feel too bad. But for some, that tired, sluggish feeling can hang around until the sweet relief of bedtime again. So if you’re getting the recommended seven to eight hours sleep per night but STILL feel tired all the time, it might be due to these unexpected reasons...
Swimming
If you have sensitive sinuses, spending more than an hour in a chlorinated pool can really irritate them. You know when you can’t stop sniffing after swimming, as though you have a cold? Well, this effect on your sinuses can also make you feel exhausted. Try to avoid diving or pushing off the pool wall so water doesn’t shoot right up your nose.
Eating too much fruit
Don’t get me wrong, fruit is healthy and we should definitely be eating it. But some fruits do contain a high amount of sugar, which can leave you dealing with an energy crash shortly after consuming them. To combat the post-snack slump, eat your fruit with some form of protein, such as nuts or peanut butter.
Keeping a secret
I know it sounds silly, but keeping a secret can be quite stressful on both the mind and body. The sheer worry that you might accidentally say something - not to mention constantly thinking about the vaulted information - can be really draining. Some secrets just aren’t worth keeping.
Not exercising enough
Often people will stop exercising because of how tired they feel. But actually, skipping a few workouts can make you feel more tired. So if you miss a session to catch up on some sleep, make sure you get back into it the next day. Exercise gets the blood pumping and releases endorphins so it not only boosts those energy levels, but your mood to match.
Lack of creativity
When you were a kid, you were creative everyday. Whether it was playing with your toys, drawing or doing craft, you were always using your imagination. Fast forward to now, and you may be in a job where creativity isn’t exactly required, resulting in boredom and - you guessed it - a feeling of tiredness. Pick up a hobby like painting or knitting, or start your own blog so you can have a creative outlet that excites you and awakens your brain.
UTI
While pain and burning during urination are common symptoms of Urinary Tract Infections, some women experience less obvious signs, including tiredness. This is because the body recognises an infection, prompting the immune system to use white blood cells to fight it, in turn causing a feeling of fatigue.
Do you often feel tired? How do you keep your energy levels up during the day?

I still remember the feeling that I'd never stop feeling tired while raising little ones but it does pass and they're worth it. Mine were babies 40 years ago!

Interesting! For me a morning vitamin B supplement gets me a little more pepped. I just put it down to not being a morning person. Once I'm up I'm fine...

Very interesting article. Sometimes we think we are doing all the right things like diet and exercise, but then a funny fact pops up. I think I should get back to my knitting.

I have chronic fatigue and suffer from insomnia. I'm either asleep all day or up all night. My unhealthy diet certainly doesn't help. It's so bad I'm unable to work :(
