My Invisalign® journey: Work, eating, exercising and socialising
It’s been a few weeks since I picked up my Invisalign clear aligners and I’m so excited that my teeth straightening journey has officially begun! I’ve been so surprised at how quickly and seamlessly my Invisalign treatment has integrated into my life – they were a little sore at first, but that completely faded within a week and they haven’t impacted my lifestyle at all.
I can still eat all my favourite foods, I can exercise with my aligners in and my work on camera isn’t affected. Most of my friends and work colleagues haven’t even noticed that I’m wearing them!
I can already see a big change in my teeth and I can’t wait to watch them transform into the smile I’ve always wanted. Watch the video above to find out how Invisalign treatment is integrating into my lifestyle.
Invisalign® treatment is a series of clear plastic removable orthodontic aligners that gently move patients’ teeth. An orthodontist or Invisalign trained dentist will be able to advise whether Invisalign treatment is right for you. You should always read and follow their directions for use. In rare cases, allergies may occur.

I wonder if I'd have had this treatment if it had been available in my youth

I could have done with having my teeth straightened many years ago but now my crooked teeth are here to stay.

Another update would be great. Definitely something that can make a huge difference to someone who really needs help.

It's so good to see Invisalign being promoted so much. I just finished my journey and they were the best thing I've ever done. It meant that I didn't have to have a mouth full of wire for my wedding and not have to change your diet at all. Now I only have to wear a retainer at night and I almost miss wearing the Invisalign all the time. Like Kate, I still also constantly carry around toothpaste and a toothbrush at least to use after eating so I definitely agree that the whole thing made my oral care much better. Keep going with your teeth journey. You'll be so amazed by the transformation!!

I remember for me that the worst of the soreness was in the first 24 hours and I could take a panadol or two to help with that which was cool. It is a very exciting thing to have done and see the changes each time the trays are renewed every two weeks!

This is a great option for adults! I'd still go for the normal braces for school age children - it's pretty much the norm. Good to see Kate being diligent with her teeth care - that oral care kit is a great idea.

I've been thinking of getting these done to correct my teeth that have altered as an adult. They look fantastic to use.

I had braces as a teen but can't remember whether Invisalign was even an option. I think it was, but because my teeth were so badly crooked & I was already seeing the signs of receding gums, I couldn't have it. I still wouldn't be able to since the receding has got worse (it's confined to my bottom gums though), so if I had to have braces again then I'd have to have the traditional type.

It looks so much easier to live with than "proper" braces.

If only these had been around when I was a kid. I remember the teasing but I never cared about that but some other kids were totally crushed. Its just such a dram getting braces on...or it was back then ...things have changed so much now. Back when I was a kid you needed a silver bar that wrapped around each tooth and then the wire linking them all together.....what a drama.

I had braces as a teenager and these were around but they were double the price of my braces at the time.

Luckily I haven't needed any form of braces. Invisalign seems to be a much simpler method of teeth straightening than conventional braces. Also not as noticeable.

So many amazing advancements have been made in dentistry, though none of it's helped with my dentist phobia. Looks like its working really well for you
