Cream of the crop
Like celebrity rehabbers and Australian models on the international runways, brilliant body moisturisers are everywhere. In fact, when the time came to compile a list of personal bests to share with you today, I didn’t know where to start.
Right now, I have at least four on the go. And probably a few more floating around long forgotten. Maybe it’s because body creams, lotions and oils deliver on their promises instantly. The labels may as well say ‘simply apply head to toe to feel gorgeous’.
So for body boosters that deliver instant gratification, I’ve narrowed it down to three winter wonders, all priced under $30. Hurrah.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Body Oil wins my prize for the lazy girl’s daily essential. Keep it in the shower and slick a dessert-spoonful over your body as soon as you turn the water off. Provided you then gently pat skin dry, it leaves limbs silky smooth without the effort required to work some products into your skin.
The Body Shop Body Butter is one of those creams that takes a little more rubbing to be absorbed but it’s so worth it. A favourite among make-up artists, it delivers a major moisture hit thanks to the high content of shea butter. Available in 13 varieties, luscious scents are also part of the appeal. Both Papaya and Pink Grapefruit smell like summer.
An intensive lotion that makes me feel like I’m really doing something to keep my skin in shape is Nivea DNAge Zone Action. Designed specifically for the neck, arms and décolletage, which we all know are prone to premature ageing, I like to slather it everywhere. Although it’s enriched with folic acid and UV filters, it’s the powerful hydration and lovely glow it imparts that have me hooked.
Now if only it were warm enough to wear spaghetti straps and show off that gleaming skin.
What’s your best body moisturiser?
