Now blooming

A few of you have recently asked us about the best organic beauty buys, so when the new Bloom Organics range crossed my desk I just knew it was something worth sharing.
But before I get into the goodies, I thought I should fill you in on what classifies something as Certified Organic.
To be given the Australian Certified Organic (ACO) stamp of approval, a product must contain at least 95 per cent of organic ingredients, with the balance being made up of naturally produced plant products and/or natural, non-toxic preservatives and additives.
No easy feat I can assure you.
While Bloom has always taken a natural approach to beauty, it’s only 17 years on that they’ve produced a range in which 16 of the 19 products are credited with the ACO stamp. And boy, are we excited!
Although I could rave about the new range for ages, you’ve probably got friends to meet, dinners to cook and/or kids to feed, so I thought I’d pick a few of my fave essentials for the coming colder months…
Certified Organic All Purpose Body Balm – with a combination of organic shea and cocoa butters and organic avocado and rosehip oils, this rich balm is perfect for nourishing and hydrating cracked elbows, heels and the driest of hands. A little goes a long way so use it lovingly and sparingly!
Certified Organic Nourishing Body Oil – the ideal treat for winter weary skin! Available in ‘Calming’ or ‘Uplifting’ it can be smoothed all over your body or added to a warm bath to relax and soothe, or revitalise and energise. Either way, your skin will love the extra boost of moisture it provides.
Certified Organic Scented Soap – besides the gorgeous packaging and subtle fragrances, you’ll love the luxuriously rich lather these soaps provide. Formulated with organic shea butter and sweet almond oil, they’re ideal for everyday use and won’t dry out your skin.
Which natural products do you love?

Atm it's Aveeno, Burt's Bee and A'kin to be honest I find the texture of organic hand cream very different to normal ones, I find them quite oily so I also need to switch back to the normal ones- hopefully I'll come across a organic product that would have the same texture as normal hand creams

Really happy to hear that Bloom have gained ACO certification, Yay!! I love rosehip oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, beeswax the list goes on and on. Sanctum are organic (yet to try them but love all I have heard about them) Trilogy, Akin/Alchemy, Gaia have been doing a great job. There are a lot of brands heading down the same path with most of their ingredients which is a positive thing,

Thanks for the heads up about this range. I'm a fan of Sukin Organics, A'kin and Al'chemy, Origins and Korres. I'll definitely be checking the Bloom products out though,

Burt's Bees, the graperuit and sugarbeet shampoo is my favourite, the beeswax chapstick is also good for protecting your lips in winter.

Trilogy, I love their skincare range. A'Kin, their rosehip oil. Burt's Bees, their lip balm and lemon butter cuticle cream. From the list, the body balm appeals to me the most. Is the range out in stores already?

I have just recently changed my shampoo and conditioner to organic and I am really pleased with the results. I was a bit sceptical at first but now I have the whole family using them.

I'm a fan of Bloom, Trilogy, Natural Instincts. It seems that more and more brands are getting on the organic wave. It figures to follow because we are all becoming more aware of the dangers of cosmetics and skincare.

lovin Physician's Formula's organic loose powder. Such a beautiful powder, free of any chemicals or preservatives, or irritating and pore clogging ingredients like talc and parabens. Never going to buy any powders with talc ever again..!

Wow, these products look scrumptious but I'm not sure if I'd part $19.95 for soap, looks a little pricey for me. I love to support organic products where ever possible so I'll investigate a little further before I part with my money.
